Hello all,

I was wondering if any of you had any tips on how to treat hair loss after birth? I’ve only started noticing it these last few weeks....

Does anyone have any tips for me?

Thank you

It's normal to lose hair after birth as you don't lose much during pregnancy. It will stop eventually

I had the same. Caught me very off guard and secretly thought I had developed stress related alopecia from raising a baby Blush

It’s died down now at 6.5 months.

I don’t think there’s anything you can do, other than wait.

Mine came out when I started to cut down breastfeeding. It's usually just the excess from being pregnant that comes out.

I had alopecia areata after my 1st and again after my 2nd, both boys. I was expecting it after my 3rd, but no, and not after my 4th either; they were girls. I have always wondered if it was related to the sex of the baby.

Hi op! I don't have a solution but you're not alone I'm currently shedding!

My hair is nearly down to my waist and I'm finding long hairs EVERYWHERE, I had the same with my first and just waiting for it to pass Envy< not envy

Nope not alone. Started noticing it a few weeks ago when DD was 4 months old. Same with most of the women in my NCT group. Really only noticed because I now need to clean the shower drain every couple of days! 🙈
Hoping it dies down soon!

Remember that lovely thick, lustrous hair you had when you were pregnant? Yeah, sorry. You lose all that afterwards. Yay. Hmm

You're not going bald. You'll probably notice the loss most around the front/temples. You'll be back to normal within the year. It can look a little odd as it grows back - you might have shorter tufty bits at the front - but you won't lose the lot.

It looked like the grudge was in the bath with me one night! I had mine cut short to make it less obvious to me. Slows down eventually

bobstersmum · 26/04/2018 20:11

@eddiemairswife can I ask how it long it took for your hair to grow back after alopecia each time? I developed this after my dd last year and she's 1 in Saturday and still not grown back! I didn't get it after either of my boys though strangely!

I started losing mine at 3 months and I think it stopped at 7. I now have a lovely fifty fringe that's about 3/4 of the way down my forehead 👍

eddiemairswife · 26/04/2018 22:29

bobster It started growing back when he was about a year old, but it was still there when 2nd was born when 1st was 16 months old.
