Hair loss after pregnancy, will it grow back?

Hi there, so after ds1 I had no trouble but since ds2 arrived my body seems to think I no longer require hair on my head and instead would like it on my tummy, in my butt crack (TMI sorry) and as a magnum PI style moustache......

Is this forever or might it go back to normal? I could get on board with the butt crack hair but the moustache and receding hairline is just too much.

It's normal to lose loads of hair from your head; it didn't fall out as much as usual while you were pregnant, now it's catching up with itself. It will get back to normal in time.

My mother had that after her third pregnancy (the head - she didn’t go into details about other body parts, but who knows!). It grew back once she’d gained her strength back after the difficult birth.

Are you taking skin-hair-nails vitamins? Some are specifically designed for post-partum; perhaps those could help.

Mine was coming in handfuls whenever I brush or run my hands through it. It's definitely thinning, and I have a little bald patch on my neck line that I think has been created due to having my hair pulled back tight. I've started using shampoo and conditioner plus scalp treatment for thinning hair and although I'm still finding hair everywhere it's not as bad. I found my hair went really dry too so I started blow-drying it on cool setting and tried to limit my straightening to once a week or so. Drink plenty water too. Xx

I lost loads after DS1 - especially around my temples. Totally normal for post-pregnancy. The hair growing other places could be hormone imbalance which may be totally normal for some people post pregnancy but if you’re concerned it’s prob worth a chat with your GP.

I got my hair cut into a bob btw and felt so much better about myself-don’t know if that sort of thing is an option?
