No period 13 weeks after birth

Just been to the nurse and she’s scared me. I’m 13 weeks post birth and have not yet had a period. She questioned if I could be pregnant and I said unlikely as we have used protection and I POAS a couple of weeks ago which came out negative.

So, when will I see a period? My DS was BF for the first five weeks, but is now FF.

Please tell me othe FFing mothers waited ages for their period. Thank you.

First time round I waited about three months for it to return (I formula fed from a few days old), however my cycle is really irregular normally. 8 weeks post DD2 and no sign of it.

If you count from when you stopped breastfeeding then it's only been 8 weeks which is only one or two possible cycles. Both times that my periods returned they were a little random to begin with, so it's very possible that yours are going to return soon. If you've done a test that is negative then you're unlikely to be pregnant! Particularly given that you have been using contraception.

Took over 4 months after my first, was expressing and FF (no real BF at all due to DDs health issues). However I've had friends who've got pregnant before their first period after a baby, even when FF. You probably know this by now, but if you really really don't want to get pregnant, especially if FF, you do need to use protection asap!

Thank you. As I said, we have used condoms and today I was given the pill until my appointment for the coil fitting comes through.

How strange that for months I wished for AF to not appear and now I cannot wait for it to arrive!

Fingers crossed it appears soon and I can stop worrying (the worry probably isn’t helping)
