So I had my cx 4.5 months ago and developed keloid scarring a few weeks in, it was always quite sore and it took ages for me to stop being in a lot of pain. Now i feel this hardness around the area, and stabbing and warm burning sensations on the scar itself, and i still can’t lay on my tummy. Maybe it’s because i wore jeans for the first time last week, but the discomfort has really intensified recently. I’m also starting to wonder if my constant hip and lower back pain is related.. i really don’t feel great but i know the healing process can be long and complicated, hearing other people’s experiences would be really helpful and comforting. I don’t think i can face going to the gp again because i’ve been twice now and fobbed off every time. Thoughts and experiences much appreciated x

I had a similar experience when I tried wearing trousers that pressed on the scar! I've also found it difficult and painful - still can't lift the pram out or walk or drive far and it's so frustrating! I get very upset by people saying I should have recovered after a week or two. You're not alone in it!

The nurse told me that it can get more painful a few months in as the muscles knit together. She also said it's major abdominal surgery so it takes months to recover from it, and if I'd had something similar without the baby part I wouldn't have been allowed to lift anything or be out and about for the first three months!

If you're worried and the GP isn't helping could you ring the health visitor, midwife or whatever similar local person you have? They have lots of experience and might be able to say if it is something expected or if you should be seeing someone.
