Weight loss whilst breast feeding

What are people's experience of weight loss whilst breast feeding?

I'm 3 weeks post emergency c section (38wks) with an easy recovery so far but I'm obviously restricted to walking and light house work in terms of activity. I exclusively breast feed and have dropped from 83kg to 70kg already. My pre pregnancy weight was 65kg and I'm tall and slim, so that's a healthy weight for my build. I have a seemingly endless appetite and easily eat 2200-2400 calories each day - mostly as a healthy diet with a few snacks and am pretty well rested. I was active pre pregnancy and continued to work out during pregnancy, so i think a large part of my weight gain was fluid, but I'm still surprised at how fast the weight is falling off. I want to return to being fit and active once I've recovered, but i dont want to loose too much weight either.

Thoughts/experiences welcome.

I gained nearly 19 kgs during my second pregnancy. I lost three quarters of that weight within the first 2 months or so, then I started losing weight at a slower rate and was back to my pre-pregnancy weight about 10 months after the birth. I didn't have a massive appetite, but still didn't lose too much weight. I shouldn't worry, just listen to your hunger and eat healthily and you'll be fine.

It's my first baby and I'm EBF, I had a similar experience, I could get into my jeans about 3 weeks after birth and was back to my birth weight after about 3 months. I eat whatever I want and while I do walk loads I haven't done any proper exercise since before the pregnancy (when I did quite a lot). I'm just enjoying it - my baby is 5 months so won't be breastfeeding for too much longer, I guess then I'll have to start putting the work in again!

Breastfed 3 children exclusively for literally years on end. I cling onto every excess lb like it's precious no matter how hard I diet or excercise. When I fully wean from the breast I drop over a stone within weeks.

For me weight loss while feeding is a bloody myth.
