Not sure if I posted this in the right section, I know there's a weight loss section, but this seemed very specific to just having a baby.
Before my baby when I wanted to lose weight, as long as i stuck to my calorie goal I'd always lose at least 3lbs every week. I am a big girl.
Now my little one is here I'm more concerned than ever about being a healthy weight so I can look after him. He is 7 weeks old, I have been restricted my calories for 4 weeks and started exercising last week. I lose a pound, I gain a pound, I lose a pound, I gain a pound. I tried upping my calories a bit, I tried lowering them a bit. Nothing is helping.
Could my metabolism still be affected by my pregnancy? I'm not breastfeeding and I'm getting enough sleep. I really don't know what it could be. And I have lots of willpower this time, but quite annoying to look and feel exactly the same after 4 weeks of hard work.
Any ideas or tips anyone?

Thyroid? I'm the same, my little one is nearly a year old now and they have figured out I have an under active thyroid Sad

I gained 2st 4lb in pregnancy. Lost 1st immediately after birth and then 4lb in the first week (excess fluid?). Was delighted. Assumed it would continue to slip off with little effort if I ate normally (which is pretty healthily as I am quite stubborn about my weight). I stubbornly stayed at this weight for the next 9 weeks! Then suddenly at around 10 weeks it started to finally drop off at 1-2lb a week and at 12.5 weeks I finally managed to do up a pair of my old jeans.

I've been where you are and understand your frustration! But it may be that you are just still recovering. I started going out and about more around 8 weeks as well but not sure if this contributed? I've now lost 1 inch on my waist in the last 4 weeks and so happy! It will come x
