TMI?? Periods after birth

My ds is 14 weeks old and is my second child.

I had Lochia for 4 weeks on and off after the birth which was a natural birth. I do suffer with pcos but have always had regular periods which have never been more than 4/5 days - one heavy day (nothing like I'm experiencing now though!)

I then had my first proper period at 10 weeks postpartum but I was soaking a pad every few hours and the pain in my right side was horrendous. I put it down to it being the first period.

I've now come on exactly 28 days later and yet again I'm soaking a pad every 2/3 hours and again the pain in my right side is at times unbearable - it's sharp it's stabbing and it takes my breath away.

Has this been the experience for other mums?

You might get more answers in 'general health'

I'm assuming that it wasn't like this for DC1. And what happens to other people isn't remotely relevant here.

It's a change for you, and accompanied by pain. I suggest you see a GP
