Struggling with hair loss

I'm really struggling with postpartum hair loss. I had heard about it whilst pregnant but didn't realise it would be this bad.

Seemed to get worse and worse as soon as my DD turned 3 months. now it just comes out in handfuls and I dread washing my hair because so much comes out. My hair feels so thin and I feel like my hair line has even receded a bit.

Does anyone have any tips/helpful advice or is it just one of those things I just have to ride out?

You just have to ride it out unfortunately. Do try and avoid as much heat styling as possible, and I found not brushing/combing while wet helped too. I would wait until my hair was dry and then run a wide-tooth comb through it which would only take out the loose hairs and none of the healthy stuff. Mine stopped bang on 6 months and I was convinced I would be bald by then, but my DD is now 7 months old and my hair isn't looking too bad.

No tips or advice but LO is 8 months and I'm just starting to get baby hairs growing back around my hairline.

I lost so much on the sides, luckily it was very thick to begin with but the sides of my head were so sparse I was embarrassed to wear my hair up

Please be reassured this is the hair that didn't fall out during your pregnancy! It does stop and certainly slows down after a few weeks. Treat your hair well and ride it out!

It is common, but it may be worth a trip to GP to check your iron levels. 💕

I would also suggest a good test to check your thyroid. I had awful hairless and was diagnosed with hypothyroid. I had other symptoms too much definitely worth checking!

my hair has been falling out for about 3 months now! so depressing Sad hoping it stops soon. I know it will stop but seems to be going on a lot longer than my first pregnancy. It will get back to normal, don't fret too much... but I know how you feel op Flowers I'll try and take my own advice too..
