Breastfeeding and periods

My little girl is 8 weeks tomorrow and I exclusively breastfeed her, she doesn't take a dummy or have any bottles. Well today it appears my periods have returned? Is it normal for them to come back so soon? With my first I'm pretty sure I had a good few months without them, I'm probably worrying. Over nothing but I though breastfeeding kept them at bay ? X

It's normal.

Breastfeeding can stop periods, but not always. Mine returned at 4 weeks on the dot and were regular from then on, despite ebf until weaning at 6m, and bf until 14m.
