Sleep deprivation slows brain cell regrowth

Hi all, I just heard this Ted talk about how sleep deprivation is associated with depression. Yeah we knew that already right? But it made me think - we've got another reason to look after ourselves better - not getting enough sleep stops you recovering from depression. And maybe cell regrowth is why. Take care of yourselves ladies, we're warriors.

Hmm not exactly reassuring for those of us for whom sleep deprivation is not a choice! If I could up my hours I would - but my DD has other ideas...

Ditto purple. I know that sleep deprivation is having a hugely negative effect on my mental health, but all anyone can say to help is "it won't last for ever, just ride it out" or "I know XYZ person who's DC sleep even less well, it could be worse"

Hopeful bump?
