I waited about 3 months before I even wanted it with an episiotomy and 2nd degree, but even then I was worried about it. Ask at your 6 week check if all is fine. You can do it after that if you really want. There's not really any set time limit, just need to heal and be comfortable.

It was 4 weeks for me with no problems at all , I felt fine . I wanted to after 2 weeks but was too scared .

4 weeks with a second degree tear. I found that my tear felt healed after a week or so!

Dogprobs · 01/07/2015 16:53

I haven't noticed it at all. I am slightly worried that it will all tear apart but that's probably irrational.

4 months but it hurt too much! 6 months and it was fine :)

ALittleFaith · 01/07/2015 16:59

About 7 weeks. It was tender but not terrible.

PosterEh · 01/07/2015 17:00

About 6 weeks. It was healed at that point but the scar tissue made things painful until about 8months.

Dogprobs · 01/07/2015 21:10

Oh dear might change my mind then!

Just don't go mad Grin and you can always stop !

GinUpGirl · 01/07/2015 21:18

Just use buckets of lube and go very slowly!

4 weeks for a third degree tear. It was fine

LBOCS · 01/07/2015 21:24

7 weeks for a borderline 2nd/3rd degree tear. It hurt, a lot. It was probably c. 6 months before I had no discomfort at all - but I tore up and down (front and back?!) so I think that part of the problem was that there was no idea angle which didn't put pressure on the scar.

Roseybee10 · 02/07/2015 08:28

7 weeks with second degree tear. No pain.

5 weeks for first degree tear with no stitches. Also no pain.

Buy lube!!!

Dogprobs · 02/07/2015 08:30

Well I tried, with lube. It hurt!!!!

It's a case of how long is a piece of string. Depends on the tear, I had no issue with one tear but it hurt for over a year with the second. Fine now though.

Cgow · 02/07/2015 22:19

5 weeks for me loads of lube and took it very slow romance was slightly dead the first time as I was petrified but second time was fine! No pain at all x

Dogprobs · 04/07/2015 21:56

Thanks for the responses, my main fear is that the tear will come apart again with something going in there, with force. Superbly irrational but that's the truth! I'm desperate for it though!
