Painful sex 4.5 months later

Hi, I had dd at home 4.5 months ago, luckily it was a straightforward natural birth. I had no stitches after wards as the midwife felt that the 3 tiny tears (labia, internal and perinium) I had would heal on their own. Physically I've felt 100% since about 5 weeks pp. and everything looks good as new from the outside. But sex is still very painful. We've tried a few times over the last 2 months but things aren't improving. Internally If feels like something is pulling or stuck on the right side and DH can't fully penetrate at all. I really didn't expect these to happen after such a lovely birth, but here we are. I wonder if it's psychological and DH says I feel tense inside. As soon as the painful pulling sensations starts I know I tense up and he has to stop.

Hello
No, it's not normal. DS is 3mo. I had a 2nd degree tear. I used to feel like a little tightening on the right side that was painful when having sex. It felt like a "hard" spot. Spoke to my MW, she gave me stretching exercises (like the one you do before birth) and a cream called Cicaplast. 2 months later, I feel fine. Don't suffer, speak to someone and demand a solution.
Good luck Flowers

I'm not sure I'm not in the UK but give them a call they'll tell you.
