Just realised that tomorrow is finally June. So here's a big Happy Birthday to One and All. Right who's first (of us that are still around, natch)?

lol zebra thats how fin ended up with a huge carpet burn down his nose! He put his head down on the floor in temper then decided it would be fun to push himself across the floor as fast as he could because he was cross!

luckylady · 05/08/2005 12:41

it must be a boy thing as Scott dows this also but then decides to gheadbutt the floor until he makes himself cry!!!! mad child.....

fqueenzebra · 05/08/2005 12:45

wow, ladies, we're actually being almost chatty today!

Do your boys do it almost reflexively? I mean, something happens they don't like, and head goes down on the floor, looking up at you as if to say "I'm gonna throw my head down here and what are you going to do about it??!!"

But he's not crying, it's like he's thrown his head down there out of habit, before he's even figured out if he really is that cross about whatever it was.

Or the effort of putting head down on floor has worn him out for a moment, so he's waiting to catch his breath before yelling about it?

swiperfox · 05/08/2005 16:20

I definately think so zebra. With Fin, if he's standing at the sofa/table etc and i say no or he cant get something he wants, then his legs just give way under him as he throws himself to the floor and headbutts the floor in temper! Thing is though, if i then try to give him whatever it was he wanted when he looks up, he bangs his head on the floor again as if to prove a point!!

luckylady · 05/08/2005 23:11

yes , Scott is the same, although if you have hold of him he will open his eyes right up and head butt you!!!. Atleast we have sussed out that his eyes open verywide just before he is going to do this so we can move out of the way or out him on the floor.

If/when we tell him off for something he just looks at you and frowns, then looks at everyone else in the room to see what there reaction is whilst poutting... he does look funny and it is so hard not to laugh at them.

He has been quite sweet this week though, as Nicole went to her dads last saturday (for three week ) and all week when I have said "where is Coley" he says (attempts) "Gone" then points to her photo on the wall. he has also started to go "ooff" for "wook", so we are getting there. Still no waliking though!!

luckylady · 08/08/2005 10:20

Scott has started to say "ta" now whenever he handed something, but hen he throws it away so he can say "goo" (gone) then wants it back to start the whole process again.
he is soo cute and sweet...

swiperfox · 11/08/2005 10:57

Finlay finally stood on his own this morning!! He was cruising around the kitchen and just let go - about bloody time!!!

He did it again after that but then tried to jump so landed with a big bump!!!

He's sooo funny at the moment i just want to pick him up and squeeze him all the time!!

Found out yesterday I"m pregnant again Was a BIG shock!!!

cathncait · 11/08/2005 12:59

WOW SWIPERFOX! yes I have been lurking around here from time to time but your pregnancy news just dragged me in here! WOW. How do you feel about it all - it actually works out to quite a reasonable age gap...mostly. Congratulations to you, I hope you are feeling happy, if not a bit shellshocked! i know i would be ...well, stunned to say the least .

meanwhile, everything is great here. Grace is lovely, abit scary as she is a climber and very likely to run off at any time so I have to watch her like a hawk which makes me feel a little obsessive at times, but can't be helped. my 2 girls just love eachother to bits which just makes me all warm and fuzzy evertime they have a cuddle or a kiss or even just play together . they are so cute.

Is anyone else still breastfeeding? i am going to wean dd really soon (she only has a morning and evening feed) - was just waiting for a teething bout to finish (all four molars came in within a few weeks). She was really hard to settle so I was glad (mostly) that I was still able to feed her if she needed it.
Let us know how you are going swiper and best wishes to you.

fqueenzebra · 16/08/2005 21:48

Me -- I'm still breastfeeding. Also cutting molars here, though, and poormite has a stuffy nose, so not very keen on latching on.

Swiperfox -- you mad woman! Hope you aren't jealous, LuckyLady.

Nothing to report here, really, except the molar cutting, but feel deflated since CathnCait's Grace got 4 at once (we've only got 2 at the mo). And t. is trying to say all sorts of things, still feel amazed by this.

luckylady · 17/08/2005 05:55

Swiperfox-A big congratulations.

fqueenzebra- I am a little jealous but I have commited to go on my mams 50th Bday holiday with the girls to Las Vegas, next June (leave day after Scotts bday). I dont want to be pg when I go and I also don't want to leave a new born for a week. We are going to wait till I get back. We will prob change our minds loads between now and then lol,

Still no walking here, although alot more talking..

swiperfox · 24/08/2005 10:17

He walked!! He walked!!

ok he took 4 steps and has refused to do it since lol

About time too!!

Don't be wishing for another one just yet - it's a nightmare already! Fin is still so little. He's all cute and cuddly and jumps all over me for kisses. How can I have another one already?? I'm really regretting it at the moment I'm sure i'll get over it though!

luckylady · 25/08/2005 15:23

SF- Yeahhhhh.

Scott still hasn't

Don't feel sad about having another baba, things will be Ok they will work themselves oput. Chin up luvvy.

Take care

karen

moonshine · 25/08/2005 21:58

Wow - things have happened. Have given up looking at this thread to be honest, but now I see that we have our first new sibling for a June baby - congratulations Swiperfox! To be honest, they will change so much in a few months' time and will probably be so grown up in some ways that hopefully you will be ready for a new baby by the time the birth comes. And what a great playmate he/she will make!

Tbh A has completely put me off another forever! He is such hard work, really physical, wilful, highly mischevious, trouble with a capital T etc etc. He is so trying to say loads of words, and can say a few now, as long as they are one syllable and mostly end with a vowel or similar. He is also very good at saying the beginning of lots of words! The boy is also a climbing freak, and he loves to open every single cupboard/drawer and pull out any lose books/papers/everything off tables etc all the bloody time! Oh yes and he loves to destroy things. God but I really appreciate how 'easy' my dd was in retrospect. But of course he is very loveable and affecionate - well some of the time!

Happy days....

hiya moonshine.

Scott has startedtotake his first tentative steps atlast

fqueenzebra · 31/08/2005 21:40

Cool, LL!!

T. is... giving kisses, does a sign for helicopter, and doing everything in his power to wind his sister up.

Fell off a ladder yesterday trying to climb up to a slide. OK but very scared by it all. Slap my bad mummy wrist....

luckylady · 01/09/2005 11:03

fqz- bless him glad he is ok.

when we take Scott swimming noow he just uses his armbands and is quite happy for you to let go of him. If we are in the big pool we stay were i can touch the floor and he just swims beside me bless him. Then he makes for the side and pulls himself out [shck] He has even strted to sit on the sides and throw himself in. You really do need eyes at the back of your head with him. If in a bbaby pool he runs around in it then swims for a bit then does some more walking/ running. The water must help support him upright bless him.

swiperfox · 09/09/2005 11:06

Hows everyone doing? Is Scott walking more now? Fin is so funny. He walks a little more but still feet wide apart, hands up in there and then makes a mad dash for it! He did his first "Hawow" down the phone the other night - so cute - unfortunately it was to dp's sister who doesn't talk to us and has never even seen ds or dd!

It's a bit of a nightmare with ds and dd playing together at the mo. He wants to play rough but sometimes dd is too rough and hurts him so I have to tell her off and she doesn't understand why. Sot here's lots of tears from both sides!! They love each other really!!

Amai · 11/09/2005 22:41

I am so crap at this mumsnet thing and havent bonded with anyone yet. I have only just found you all again. My darling dd (june 10th) started walking at 13 months. And i taught her what a kiss was so she has been trying to kiss me all day which is so cute as it takes all her concentration.

luckylady · 27/09/2005 10:48

SF-yes Scott has started to walk now, he is still crawling, but walking more each day.

I have not had internet access for the last 2 weeks then all of a sudden today we have it back !!!

Amai- Scott now gives lovely kisses if we are lying on the floor or on the couch sometimes he will just walk up to you and grab your face and kiss you, it is soo sweet.

freakyzebra · 24/10/2005 07:22

HI everyone. T. pushed his little (toy) pushchair about 1/2 mile yesterday, all the way to the school, preschool, afterschool kid's club. Very unhappy I couldn't open up the doors/gates to any of these places (it was 6pm on a Sunday night!).

Not really anything much to say, just saying hello.

luckylady · 30/10/2005 14:21

Sounds fun.

Scott has just started to walk outside now, and always wants to go in the opposite direction. But he is just so much fun.
