terrible, these internet shopping accidents, innit...?

morning [bgrin]

stripey - i can only manage to read chat mags now books require too much concentration
luv top
rray - your day sounded gd
chef-ye for running
fym - wow rolling already that must be fun
mm- cute dress and leggings.
wouldnt worry about thumb sucking

Spink · 16/04/2009 10:33

moose - hmm those sites will need close attention! I have bookmarked them. I really like the Little Shrimp stuff but need to wait til our cashflow.. flows. Windowshopping great til then though!

Lovely to read about everyone's good reads - I normally eat my way through books in proper bookworm stylee but haven't got the concentration span now. I will have a think about my recommendations and put them down later. Love daydreaming about books..

Thumbsucking happening a bit here too though Rosie keeps putting her fingers in too and making herself gag. That doesn't get so much of a melty mum reaction from me

A question for everyone - how old do you think Rosie has to be before I put her in our Maclaren Quest? For popping into town the double buggy is just too big especially when I'm only out with her and not ds. ..

Spink · 16/04/2009 10:51

and talking of window shopping - this site is fabulous, I really like the Eponime and Queue du Chat stuff. Yummy.

stripeywoollenhat · 16/04/2009 11:27

spink - have bookmarked. oh dear.

a book i read recently which i thought was extremely good was sarah hall's the carhullan army; it's kind of science fiction, a dystopian environmentally distressed future sort of thing - a bit like the handmaid's tale but i think better. it's not the sort of thing i usually like but it's really well written and crucially is not too long...

I've started using our buggy Spink - only for nipping out for a couple of hours - can't see how it is any different to the car seat really.

MM - I too shopped last night you should be on commision.

a la Tree here is my creation: photobox book being delivered today hopefully - yay!

I don't want to pregnant ever again but have my weak moments! Stripey, although I'm certain there are many negatives to having an option on who'll carry the baby I thought on you this morning when DH was telling me not to sell the baby gear. If I could say "I'll have one if you get pregnant" I'd do it all again - I'd even do the breastfeeding! Although from what you said about regular cycles perhaps that isn't an option, but you know what I mean.

And Dog you are young, you have all the time in the world. Even if you wait 5 years you'll still be a young Mum lucky thing!

Wow! I seem to have started a shopping frenzy - you're right, I should be on commission!

Spink some gorgeous stuff on that site - definitely for window shopping only though - at some of the prices!

Lennied you have a beautiful family and what a cutie Dylan is, those gorgeous chubby cheeks and such a stunning smile - he's the type of baby you just want to munch!

Dog lol at internet shopping accident! I seem to be having a lot of those recently!

stripeywoollenhat · 16/04/2009 13:06

Can't stop as am Hatts is asleep and I am tring to do the jobs of 3 months before she wakes

3 months today.....hit me, colic cure, hit me! Apparently it all ends today.........

Lenni - lovely to see your album. It's really really lovely. You're a babe lady!

Glad to see shopping is occuring - I have the kitty baby grow and a bunny bib cos I couldn't decide! We'll have to post pic of the babies in their cyber space co-ordinating outfits.

I read agatha Christie, and listen to it on ipod. I find them really relaxing. Reminds me of Sunday afternoons on the couch in a really warm room as a kid, eating buns and watching 'sunday telly'. Ditto antiques roadshow - am a nostalgia freak.

Off to read more thread...

Chef Yes, she is totally keeping me on my toes now changing daily. If OH goes away for a day or two , he swears she is massive by the time he is home!

Dog i think its totally up to you about the thumb sucking, for me, i'm quite happy for her to do it, its sometimes thumb, sometimes index finger, sometimes whole fist, and... anything anywhere near her she'll try and give a good suck. Like someone (forgotten and cant be arsed to scroll back up sorry) said, its self soothing, so if it means her settling herself to sleep better- result! But... it is BLOODY noisy!

Fym Well, i was just a bit surprised as i know shes has always had a plentyful supply & never had probs expressing. Oh well, Curiosity sure got this cat! :-)

Stripey Yep, Esme 12 weeks tomorrow - so i guess all the changes make sense.

Spink Esme too has got the whole Gagging thing going on, when she tries to suck the index finger, really goes for it, and then of course, gagg gagg. Silly girl.

Am a bit today. My lovely summer holiday is now up the spout. As i've said before OH gets NO time off (even in Xmas day ) all year, and then usually 8 weeks off in the summer. May & june. But... we've JUST been told he has only June off, having booked a villa in may. We have only paid deposit, but looking at small print, i think they may well try & do us for the whole amount! And in june we have so many weddings and family comitments that we wont be getting away... sob sob. AND Esme's passport arrived today- just what i needed to REMIND me that we no longer need it! Sniff Sniff.

tinkhaseatentoomanyeastereggs · 16/04/2009 13:23

wow luv the photo book very it is gorgeous

treedelivery · 16/04/2009 13:26

Spink - I go 'hermit' mode too.

Books - that is really sound advice about working her legs. I need to do more of it, and I will. Have made efforts and I noticed too that sometimesa what I thought was a feed cry was actually a 'help me out here cry'. I'm dead slow ont he uptake with this stuff.

Lenni - step away from the phd Drink alcohol till you kill off your higher functions then you won't have to bother. I have a masters lurking around here somewhere but I'll never finish it

Ok - got to page 15 and Harriet is up so got to go. Be back soon.

I love it here, it' s like having rl friends.

SADOOOOO

stripeywoollenhat · 16/04/2009 13:59

lenni - gorgeous book, gorgeous little boy i thought about doing a phd but realised i was just trying to extend my student uselessness... then mortgage intervened and all such ideas went out window.

and now i am required for a spot of nappy changing.

Just popping in to say hi as we have friends staying, but you guys seem to be keeping yourselves busy shopping online, so maybe it's best that I miss the links!

ray how funny, a couple of nights back, Nye got out of his swaddle twice, so I too have used the grobag last two nights with great success! And it's so sweet to look at him with his little hands curled up against his face. Had to trim his fingernails this morning though as there were a few scratches on his face!

treedelivery · 16/04/2009 19:15

stripey - hope duct is ok.

ray - gutted for you mate. Sounds like you need to be planning the MOTHER of all 2010 holidays!

I have news!!

A friend of a friend, who I see at weddings etc, has accepted my offer to donate an egg, as they have little other hope. Hope to goodness the powers that be accept me onto the program.
