4.5 month old suddenly very fussy and refusing bottles

So she was tested for a uti and been to the gp twice and she’s fine. I know they get fussy at this stage but it’s like she doesn’t know what she wants or when. She was taking 6oz first and last feed and 5oz bottles inbetween. She was having up to 32oz a day, today we’ve battled for her to have 17oz.

This morning she fought her first bottle and had 3oz. Refused 2nd after 2 oz had one full 5oz then 2oz and refused. Shes gone to bed and is waking up crying as I’m certain she’s hungry. But she just kind of moves her mouth on the bottle doesn’t drink. We’ve tried different test size, naps, spacing it out longer etc. she’s on the 25th centile and don’t really want her dropping. She’s also on reflux milk as she did suffer terribly with it in the start of her life. It’s stressing me out a lot! Not to mention the constant whingey crying (sounds mean but that’s only way I can describe it)

Teething?

Cocomandarin · 10/03/2026 10:41

@cannynotsay im not sure. I haven’t got any solid evidence it’s teething. She isn’t dribbling much but does chew her fists. But when I looked that up it said it’s a developmental thing. When I tried calpol and ashtons teething powder it didn’t make a difference. I’m sat here in tears this morning after more feed refusal and lots of crying. It’s so hard 😔
