Any ideas what to store ready to feed formula in once opened and to keep cool

When out I've been using the ready to feed formula bottles, any ideas what to store them in once opened to keep fresh and to prevent leakage?

Honestly I wouldn’t. I’m guessing your baby is quite young because if they were older they’d be having most if not all of a ready to feed carton since they’re only about 7oz and then it would be a non issue, so I wouldn’t personally risk improper refrigeration with an icepack or coolbag or whatever you could realistically do on the go. If you can’t put it in a real fridge and be confident you’d refrigerated properly I would just chuck and accept it’s the price of convenience for a few months until baby is having bigger feeds.

I used to try and time it so I only took out the amount I needed (leaving the opened bottle at home in the fridge) or else took a flask or asked for hot water in a cafe and made up a bottle using formula powder.

@JellyAnd he's only 18 days old and doesn't have a whole of the ready to feed bottle at the moment and still just going out for a short period of time. Makes sense for the time being to not worry about keeping hold of the remaining milk as like you say he'll be eventually having bigger feeds at some point.

@ConfusedAnxiousMum that is a option that we have thought about, taking out a flask and making up a powder formula feed.

If you’re not going out for very long it’s easier to make up a fresh bottle using powder and take that. It’s fine for two hours at room temp.

I used to put a sterilised bottle and an unopened bottle of the ready to feed in the changing bag just in case too.

@ConfusedAnxiousMum my friend bought me one of those nuby formula feed so I could use that if out for longer. That is a good idea to take a ready to feed bottle out just in case as a back up.

I bought the "starter packs" with the tiny hospital style bottles for the earlier days and then just made peace with wastage when we moved to the larger "to go bottles". Feel like baby had a feed every single time we left the house for the first 2 months or so but now time out short outings with naptimes so far less common for us to feed but always have it ready just in case. :)
