during my pregnancy my hip kept giving way like jelly and as time went on i started getting shooting pains in my groin that radiated down my legs. I would have goog and bab days depending on babies position. Anyway i wasnt refferred or anything just told to wear a suppourt belt. Since giving birth and 7 weeks on my groin/pubic bone area still feels very achey and bruised almost. Ive started walking again and found it more noticable and particular uncomfortable at night. It sounds strange but i feel different down there and dont look the same bon structure iykwim. Its almost as if my vaginal area goes in not sure whether this is because its been puffy donw there for last 9 moths so whether thats why it look different. Could this be SPD?

It does sound very much like SPD.

You need to go back to your GP (or MW/HV) and request a referral to a physio and/or orthopaedic consultant. The physio can give you exercises to strengthen your core stability and the consultant can take an x-ray to ensure that there is no seperation of the pubis.

As you've probably guessed I went through the same. My x-ray showed no seperation but my husband did ask the consultant why it looked like one side of the pubis was higher than the other and the consultant said it was just the way the xray had come out. A few weeks later I went to a chiroprator who examined me and asked if I knew that one side of my pelvis was higher than the other - I hadn't said a word to him!

So, I guess what I'm saying is that it can carry on after birth and do not let anyone fob you off otherwise. If the GP fails you, please do try a chiropractor - I went in on crutches and walked out carrying them.

Good luck! If you have any questions, just pop them on here and I - and others - will do our best to answer.
