Sorry for posting this in two forums, I’m not sure which is correct

Hi,

We had our ds on wednesday and were sent home on Thursday. We were told to expect a midwife to visit our house on Friday, but noone came or got in touch. I am not really sure who to phone as I can’t find a number in the red book, and the community midwife number for the hospital doesnt pick up (is it shut on weekends?). We would really appreciate the visit as breastfeeding is quite a struggle and we are worries he might have some jaundice. Any advice very much appreciated

Call the post natal ward and explain they will have contacts for whoever is supposed to come out to you, they don’t always come every day but I expect someone will come today but call anyway to make sure they know about you

Call the hospital you were discharged from. Either the ward or the maternity assessment unit and they should point you in the right direction x

Thanks so much for the advice, we managed to get the midwife number from the maternity unit. Seems everyone is giving birth at the moment including a number of home births which took the community midwives off schedule yesterday. All arranged for today, so thanks again!
