November 2017: sleepless, bewildered, delighted and covered in baby sick

Hi there,
I couldn't see a thread for November babies but apologies if there already is one and I missed it, please redirect me if so!

My son Jo was born on 2nd November. He's doing pretty well but seems to have really bad reflux and I'm going a bit mad from all the crying. Going to make a GP appointment tomorrow.

I am very up and down, I love him madly but also feel quite exhausted and overwhelmed by it all. Would be really good to have some support through this bewildering time!

Hello,

There’s a thread here that might be of interest:

Enjoy your lovely babies! I’m currently one day overdue and waiting for my November bundle.

I’m overdue too @LaBelleSausage - sooooo tedious! Had a failed sweep last week and due to be induced on Thursday. Fingers crossed it kicks off before the !

LaBelleSausage · 20/11/2017 09:13

I’m trying to tell myself I’m not ‘really’ overdue as my date of last period had my EDD down as 24th, it only became the 19th due to the 12 week scan.

Feel very full of baby though!

Seeing a reflexologist and then the midwife for a sweep tomorrow though, so hopefully those will get things going

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you

I'm in this club.

DD is 11 days old, born 14 days early. Completely in awe of her, but in shock after her birth and absolutely knackered. (If DP sleeps through DDs night screams/feds once more I might be arranging his funeral)

DD currently napping on me after our health care visit so I'm "stuck" on the sofa with only the remote and chocolate in reach... 😂

On another note ... Anyone else hate the midwife/healthcare visits? I feel the midwife visits are OK and needed but the healthcare visits, happen too often and too soon... Like let me enjoy DD and the moment without worrying about appointments etc. This appointment was just a hour of dos, donts and making a to do list. 😟

LaBelleSausage · 21/11/2017 16:13

Just saw the midwife and there’s absolutely no sign that baby wants to come out! Not even an option to attempt a sweep. So I’ll be seeing someone again next Wednesday when I’m ten days overdue if nothing has happened before then. Sigh.

How's things now LaBelle

LaBelleSausage · 26/11/2017 22:53

Had my little boy today!
Absolutely hellish time of it but we're both recovering nicely and hopefully won't be in hospital too long.

How are you doing?

OnNaturesCourse · 27/11/2017 17:43

Oh congratulations!!! 😁😁 Welcome to the endless round of naps, sleepless nights, nappies and feeding. It's honestly wonderful in a strange way.

Doing good thank you, slowly finding our feet and routine now the wave of visitors is dying down a little.

Take it easy, the first week or so is hard on your body - be kind to yourself and give your little one extra cuddles.
