Ladies! Hello!!
How are you all doing? Sorry for my radio silence...twins are bloody hard work OMG!!!! Combined with colic, reflux and now....teething!!! Still they are absolutely amazing and doing so well. They are just the cutest most amazing babies.
How are you all? How's all the babies doing?

Lots of love to you all xxxx

Bear2014 · 11/10/2017 21:31

Oh no Raffles that does not sound good! Poor you. It should be treatable though for A and you? Or if you decide to stop, you can be proud to have done this long for sure.

Mrscrab i agree that a formula top up shouldn't affect your supply but I also doubt it would gain you any extra sleep. Worth a try though!

We seem to be plateaued at the 2 night feeds which i can live with pretty much indefinitely- would be good to shorten them a bit though, we can be up for an hour or more at a time. I blame the dreaded wind!

Hope everyone has a better night tonight...

Lolly!! Hello! No way, surely not teeth already?! Precocious little chaps for sure. I can only imagine what hard work they are but glad you're enjoying them 😍

On the topic of twins, I've been thinking a lot about what cool BG twins my two would have been. They are so alike, A is in his sister's gro bag now and it's like looking at the same baby. Personality as well. Genetics is a crazy thing!

Hello Lolly. Teething already! Sounds tough.

MrsCrab was in two minds but itsclearing up quickly so will keep going for now. He's having a bottle one feed a day - either formula or expressed - so will be mixed going forward but with that one feed off I can manage for a fair while.

Bear, you may be right about the top up! Just been abroad for a few days for work and I didn't give the top up while I was away and he slept fine.

He was also an absolute star travelling my. Was very proud of him.

Hope you're all well. Anymore pictures anyone? Xxx

Hello everyone, just checking in to say hi, hope you and your babas are all doing really well! We’re all good, things seem slightly easier as he’s got a bit older if only because were more confident and relaxed when he cries. It’s so nice when they start laughing too isn’t it Smile am still managing to remind myself of how long I waited for this when things get tough and how lucky we are. Looking forward to his first Christmas. Any exciting news from anyone? Xx

RafflesMaidenSister · 14/11/2017 17:07

Hi Mrs Crab, lovely to hear from you and glad to hear you are getting a bit more settled. It's generally going well here (but do not embark on 450 mile car journeys with a 10 week-old in the expectation of having a "holiday" at the end of it).

Arthur is wonderful! His little smiles, laughs and chirrups are adorable. He's not doing anything very much yet - no interest in rolling over or grabbing yet! Managing to get a bit of a balance with work and life - the new nanny has turned out to be fantastic!

Hope everyone else is well but please let us all know!

RafflesMaidenSister · 02/01/2018 12:28

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone. Hope you all had good first Christmases. x

Bear2014 · 03/01/2018 21:45

Hi Mrscrab and Raffles! Glad you're getting on well and enjoying your lovely babies. Hope you had a fabulous Christmas and New Year.

A is almost 5 months and I have no idea where the time has gone! He's still a happy and compliant chap, thank goodness, but his sleep has regressed massively (gone from 1 wakeup to average of 3) and he's hit a clingy phase. I'm enjoying the cuddles though! Not sure how much he weighs now but he's in a mixture of 6-9 and 9-12 clothes!

My big baby turned 4 today.. we're all crashed out after a blur of activity. Coping with 2 has been much easier than I feared, mostly as she is about 80% of the effort I think! He fits in around her by sitting patiently in his sling or buggy then we do our baby thing on her nursery days. I am enjoying the portability while it lasts, doing lunches, culture and cinema!

Hope everyone else is doing really well and getting in the groove Smile

Happy New Year! Best sounds like you've got it all going super well. How is everyone else getting on? The twins are 7 months next week!!! I cannot believe it. They are teething and going through a difficult phase so I'm absolutely exhausted! One goes through the night one doesn't. It's amazing though. Had a good Christmas but nice to have some quiet time and get back to normal now xxx

Bear2014 · 07/01/2018 20:38

Hi Lolly! 7 months, where does the time go?? How are they getting on with solid food? Glad you had a great Christmas, must have been pretty surreal going from 0-2 kids. My parents didn't know what to do with themselves going from 1-3 grandchildren.

It's so annoying isn't it when one sleeps through and you can't enjoy it. Alex had a freakishly good week when he slept up to 10 hours a night, but E was up every 5 minutes with a cold. Now she's fine and he's upped his night feeds again. Oh well!

I can't believe some of the "sub-fertile" babies have been with us more than half a year! Arthur is now 4 months old. He's huge! It's lovely to watch all the changes but sometimes I wonder where my tiny baby went.

Lolly, hope you are not too exhausted. I'm dreading teething - can't imagine what it is like with two going through it at the same time. I guess you are always fighting fires, so to speak, but must be so interesting watching them both grow up together.

Bear, sorry you're not getting any sleep! We too are really taking advantage of the portability. Went to a posh restaurant for dinner on Saturday night for Mr RMS's birthday and Arthur just slept in his pram, but I know we can't be very far away from the time when this is no longer possible. In you experience when do you lose portability? When they are mobile or before that?

I don't know how heavy he is either, but we are starting to move into some of the smaller 6 - 9 months because he is very long and has huge hobbit feet. This is about standard because he looks nothing like me - seems to take completely after his Dad.

Bear2014 · 09/01/2018 11:40

Hi Raffles! Impressed that you're doing dinners out. We haven't done that since a couple of months old. We currently just do lunches, baby cinema etc. How's your sleep on the whole?

OP posts:
RafflesMaidenSister · 09/01/2018 21:14

He’s pretty consistent - touch wood! Sleeps well all night usually but very little in the day. So all in all we’re lucky. Just feeding him now before he goes down for the night.

RafflesMaidenSister · 06/06/2018 19:11

Don't know if anyone is still watching this thread, but as we come back to summer, I have been wondering how you are all doing.

Hoping everything is going well and there are lots of crawlers, walkers, talkers and happy parents.

Bear2014 · 07/06/2018 12:24

Hi Raffles! This just popped up on my app - how are you all? Hope your first year with little man has been amazing. We're doing good, A is almost 10 months. He's lovely and sweet and cuddly, all he wants to do is sit on our laps and grin at the world. And big sis is his favourite person in the world. Going back to work in a month, I can't bear it!!

OP posts:
RafflesMaidenSister · 25/06/2018 16:00

Bear - so glad to hear you're doing well! Great to hear how happy your family are. We're having a fab time - Arthur is great - very smiley and chatty (no actual words but, you know, chatter) and huge! Hope return to work goes well. x

Lolly2803 · 18/09/2018 07:59

Hi ladies! How are you all? xxx

Bear2014 · 18/09/2018 19:01

Hi Lolly! This just popped up - we're good thanks how are you? What are you and the twins up to??

It's been all about DD starting school lately, yikes! Seems to be loving it so far. I'm back at work and A is settled at nursery, also loving it which makes life easier.

He's just been diagnosed with joint hypermobility which means he'll walk really late and will need orthopaedic shoes, bless him! He's bum shuffling all over the place though and being a menace so it's not a huge hinderance.

Hope everyone else really well Smile

OP posts:
Lolly2803 · 18/09/2018 19:47

Ahhh off to school how exciting and what a milestone! Bet you can't believe it.
Aw bless him, will he always need orthopaedic shoes? Glad to hear all is well.

The twins are great! They are walking now although probably about 70% waking and 30% crawling. They are very fast crawlers and into everything!!! But great fun at the same time.

This is so random but I felt all the pregnancy symptoms this week and randomly did a test on Saturday (I am due AF on Thursday) and I am pregnant. BFP. I am still in total utter shock. So much so I'm wearing a pad as I am just waiting for it all to come to an end as I can't believe this could possibly happen let alone be ok. With all the meds etc it took to get me pregnant with ivf and sustain my pregnancy I can't get my head around this actually happening! But anyway I'm due Thursday so who knows! xxx

Bear2014 · 19/09/2018 09:34

Oh my god Lolly that is insane! Contratulations (tentative obvs) - it happens so much more often than you would think though. One of my NCT group had 4/5 cycles of IVF to have their first and their second was a total accident, there was an 18 month gap. My sister is also 8 weeks pregnant having needed IVF for my niece. Something about pregnancy seems to fix people! 3 kids, that's terrifying Grin

So glad you're all getting on well. It's a crazy but fun age. I bet they're like proper little people now!

DD was running by 13 months so it's weird having a non walking toddler but they all find their own way. Still not sure on his timeline for walking, what help he will need etc, I'm sure it will resolve in time. We're waiting on some genetic tests to see if he has Ehlers Danos syndrome but they don't think he does as he doesn't have any other symptoms.

Lolly2803 · 19/09/2018 14:30

Yer it's crazy! But as I said I can't imagine it'll be ok so I'm just waiting for it to come to an end! I know I can't let myself imagine having 3 under 2 which is what it would be for a month🙈
I'm sure he'll find his way. Kids are tough and adventurous and might take him a bit longer but I'm sure it'll be ok. They all do things in their own time don't they. Are you back at work now? I'm at home full time with the twins. Which is hard but fun. Yer they have proper personalities now and are really different which is nice. xx

Bear2014 · 19/09/2018 15:10

I don't know how you do it! I'm sure it's great for them having you look after them all the time though, and they have each other to play with which is lovely. Yes, back at work, technically full time but 2 days from home which are 'light' on the work so not too bad. Weirdly, I can see school being more challenging to work around than nursery as it seems a lot more involved. I would love to go part time but work aren't keen and I don't think we could afford it either.

Mine are like chalk and cheese too, after having been identical as newborns. Definitely a different experience this time around.

Keeping my fingers firmly crossed for you! You can stick the twins in nursery at 3 so light at the end of the tunnel...

OP posts:
Lolly2803 · 27/09/2018 19:34

Yer I do enjoy being at home with them. Even though some days they drive me round the bend!

That's good work isn't too heavy going, must make things a bit easier.

Haha yer they'll go to pre school at 3ish actually before they're 3 so that's good. Although not holding out much hope with this miraculous pregnancy! I'm 5 weeks today and have had on and off brown spotting since Sunday. My CB digital still saying 3+ weeks but this brown can't be a good sign. Isn't that how miscarriages start?
I'm booked in for a scan next Friday at 6+1 at the EPU so will see what happens but I'm thinking this will come to an end soon????

mrscrabtree · 04/03/2019 09:29

Hi Ladies... wow long time no "speak"... I had completely lost this thread then just found it again now I have the app.

Don't know if any of you will see it! But if you do, how are you all? My baby is 18 mo now, can't believe it. Everything is great. He is a total delight, such a personality. Definitely not ready to try for another yet tho Shock

Lolly, hope you are ok and that whichever way things worked out with the surprise pregnancy that you and the twins are good.

Bear hope your little man is doing well and I'm sure his hyper mobility won't hold him back Smile

Sending positive thoughts to all x
