Our first thread has almost finished so I thought we'd need a new one!

OP posts:

Didn't know about photo's either, so cute. Going to try and get technical and add some too.

Apples sorry but lol on poo explosion!! I have had many of those ;-) can just picture your other dc's

Lostbobbles · 01/04/2013 18:48

Woohoo think I have managed it

birdies · 01/04/2013 19:56

Ah they're all so lovely! I'm definitely getting broody again!!

Bunny222 · 01/04/2013 20:04

Am loving the baby pics!
After some advice about Strawberry marks. Has anyone else come across them? B has a small bright red mark on his back that two GPs have said is strawberry mark. Now its developed a hard lump below it, and has got bigger in size, which the GP said could happen. Will go and see the health visitor this week. He is fine in himself.
Any experience of this? X

birdies · 01/04/2013 20:09

I had one on my back too which had completely disappeared when I was about 14 so 5 years ago. Didn't cause me any bother. They are often both above and below the surface.

birdies · 01/04/2013 20:13

Did anyone's baby get a hip check at the 6 week check? Ie they bend the legs right out and it looks awful?

happyhow · 01/04/2013 20:46

Birdies - Bailey got the hip check. Does every baby not get it? It was quite funny actually because he giggled when she did it then giggled more when she was checking that his balls were in the right place! Grin

I went up a size in nappies and we've had 2 leaky poo nappies today alone with a third one that was a near miss! One he managed to get up the front and round the sides, the next was down his leg and coated the inside of his jeans and the one after that was at the edge of the nappy. What are we doing wrong???!!!

Everyone's babies are very very cute! I've put up some pics of Bailey.

Lostbobbles · 01/04/2013 20:53

Bunny- DD1 has/had an hemangioma which came up approx 4 weeks after birth. It was between her eyebrows. It grew to just bigger than a 5p over her first year and was very red. We saw a couple of specialist's (nhs and private) who advised that some start to fade after first year, then by 5,7 and if still there after 10 then it is unlikely to go. Thankfully DD1's started to fade after 13 months ish and it is now barely noticeable she has a small raised area but it is no longer red Grin

Birdies- DD1 also had to have a hip
Scan as she was breech and it took about a week after birth for her to move out of the lotus position, but all was fine.

birdies · 01/04/2013 20:57

The doctor forgot to do it then. I thought afterwards that maybe they just dont do it anymore. How shit. I might take her back to get it done.

birdies · 01/04/2013 20:58

happy I can't see your profile

AppleCrumples · 01/04/2013 21:02

Bunny ds2 had a strawberry mark on his thumb. It got bigger as he did and then disappeared (sorry but when it disappeared is lost in time). All i can really tell you is that it was never an issue! Ivy has one on her chest which is bigger than it was (as is she) and is also a kind of lump. Both dr and hv not at all concerned.

Happy are you sure they're not too big maybe? Or sometimes i change her on autopilot and later find its sort of shifted to one side so if she poos it will go everywhere a'la my earlier poo post :) Not sure if that makes sense sorry!

Re nappies i was using new baby pampers size 3 and had quite a few what i call 'up the backers' had to get emergency nappies from coop who only had baby dry in a 3 and no leakage despite quite a lot of poo.

Oh god have just realised i talk about poo all the time Shock Grin

Pascha · 01/04/2013 21:12

Grin I had two explodapoos from Dan myself today. The Tescos nappies are just not tall enough so I've changed to Sainsburys eco nappies this time and see how they go. Does anyone elses baby look extremely pleased with themselves when they've done a very big poo or is it just mine?

Happy you need to make your profile public so we can see the photo.

Birdies they definitely should have done the hip check at birth and six weeks. Xanthe looks very cute by the way.

Lost your DD is gorgeous. So happy in the picture.

happyhow · 01/04/2013 21:14

I was on the pampers new baby ones size 2 and he's around 12lbs so from previous conversations I thought I should move up a size. Now on size 3 baby dry (as they were on offer in Asda and I'm a cheap Scot!) so the size should be fine. The one that went down his leg had slipped to the side but we've had a few escaping poos this week, especially 'up the backers'.

Birdies - I'll see if I can sort it. My photos are supposed to visible to everyone.

happyhow · 01/04/2013 21:17

Profile now public. There are 3 photos up of Bailey.

theboutiquemummy · 01/04/2013 21:23

Hello sorry haven't been posting much how's everyone doing Grin

AppleCrumples · 01/04/2013 21:40

Happy i noticed today that baby dry 3 goes up to 20lb whilst new baby 3 only up to 15lb. Only looked as this morning was the first time a poo explosion didn't require a change of clothes and they did feel.a bit bigger. As seen in pics Ivy is a bit of a chunk so tbh i think our problem was that she was too.big for new baby ones! She was 13lb9 last time she was weighed about 3 weeks ago :)

See am.clearly obsessed with poo

AppleCrumples · 01/04/2013 21:41

Poo poo poo poo pooo

Grin Grin

AppleCrumples · 01/04/2013 21:42

Ps happy Baileys gorgeous x

glorious · 01/04/2013 22:42

Ooh what lovely babies you all have! I've added one of Ellen. She has also been treating us to exploding nappies recently, including one I had to change in the back seat of the car, ick! Hoping when I pull my finger out and choose some reusables it might help but could go either way...

Meringue33 · 01/04/2013 23:14

They are all sooo cute!!! Added :)

Hormonalhell · 02/04/2013 00:33

No fair ConfusedConfusedConfusedConfused

I can't look at pics or upload any cos I use the app on my phone

Hormonalhell · 02/04/2013 00:35

Yes exploding nappies here too and they stink of .....scrambled egg!!!!

Very strange Hmm

Lora1982 · 02/04/2013 01:13

There, Dexters up. I tried to choose photos which didnt emphasise his two chins Grin thats his nickname aswell, chins... For various reasons.

Someone mentioned birthmarks there looks like a tiny rash on the back of his neck i thought id hurt him putting clothes on but been reliably informed its a birthmark, its not raised though

Angielka · 02/04/2013 01:34

Don't think your profile's public Lora, and I'm interested to see Dexter's chins as Molly has an impressive set of her own Grin I still can't get over how many folds and creases she has - DD1 had her fair share but ankle folds?

DD1 had a birthmark at the base of her neck and the base of her spine. She's now 2.6 and they have faded to almost nothing. Both my girls also had hip scans as they had slightly clicky hips at the 6 week check, but everything was normal in the end.

glorious we've used washable nappies with DD1, and the poo explosions did reduce, but haven't switched with Molly yet. I just feel like she still needs so many nappy changes and I might wait a couple more weeks.

Anyone have experience of umbilical hernias? They're basically big outie belly buttons and Dr Google a bit of research and RL friends reliably inform me that they sort themselves out, but Molly's got one and I'm interested to hear more personal experience. It does look a bit weird Shock

Lora1982 · 02/04/2013 01:44

I thought dexter had a hernia but the nurse said it was fine. From what i read when i was worrying myself to death theres nothing much they can do anyway so they do just leave it to sort itself out... As far as i know anyway, im no expert.

I shall go figure out how tochange my profile then
