Tried to post on the original thread and my post got rejected as its full! Have copied and pasted below....

Congrats on the job offer ttl...hope the other one comes up trumps for you too.

Dd isn't quite crawling yet, but would very much like to. She is the queen of the Klingons at the moment, and has a meltdown the second I put her down, look in the opposite direction, or if someone else so much as looks at her. Not all the time thankfully, but definitely for part of every day.

On the bf thing, it's so personal.....I've just dropped doing the afternoon feed myself be cause dd is so distractible that she bobs on and off, which I don't like around other people, and now she finally has teeth the constant latch on/off was really hurting. I just bf once a day, our morning snuggle when she's nice and calm. I would be sad to give that one up just yet.

Hooya, how absolutely lovely! Enjoy the holiday. Not much advice about the bottle other than perhaps he'll just get used to it?

Wing, she's going to bed in long sleeved vest, long sleeved sleep suit and long sleeved t shirt over the top. 2.5 tog sleeping bag and two cellular blankets . She is now sleeping through and warm enough. Other than the terrible teething night we had the other day.

Hi everyone else. I'm busy trying to do the Xmas shopping!

WingDefence · 04/12/2013 22:13

Hi all!!

I have been crazily busy with work and also non-work life so apologies for not posting much Blush

Glad DD is sleeping through tired - my DD is getting me up in the night purely because she's so mobile in her sleep that she either rolls over and squashes her hands so grumbled or shuffles up to the end of the cotbed and bashes her head against the bars so I have to get up and rescue her!

Hooya I found that warming themilk far warmer than I'd have thought really helped and DD turned a corner one day. Don't give up - just keep persevering.

Hooya · 05/12/2013 02:52

Hello! Thanks for the advice re the bottle wing - have been trying to heat it, and tried a new bottle - he is now guzzling happily!

tired that's great re sleeping through! And yes to positivity re bottles, he did indeed improve.

I did a day back at work yesterday, it was bizarre! It went well but we have a nanny trial today and I keep trying to leave them to it but I miss him so much when I do - can't believe in a few weeks this will be 5 days a week! Sad

My new worry is expressing - so hard to get enough to satisfy DS! I am off now to read all the tips on how to increase yield. Expressing at work yesterday was one of the strangest experiences...

Pineapple80 · 05/12/2013 04:53

Hi ladies! Hope u are all well. Been a while since I've been on here. I'm back to work 4 days a week and slowly getting used to it. I'm expressing now as we speak Grin. There is a lovely parenting room here with all equipment and facilities. Really lucky.

Hooya, just persevere with your FS and bottle. My DS rejected it for many weeks and one day he just guzzled it. He insists on holding his own bottle now Grin!

How is work for you Wing?

Hi Tired! Smile

WingDefence · 05/12/2013 08:19

Morning!

Well as you ask about work... I'm currently on the train down to London and have been down once a week since I started which is actually far more than normal - down again next Monday and then the Thursday after that too (but that's for my Xmas meal Grin). I did just about get to see the DCs this morning though as I only had to leave the house at 7:10 whereas the next couple of days it's a 6am departure time for me :(

I'm doubly knackered this morning as I went to Old Trafford yesterday to see Man Utd who bloody lost so it wasn't even worth it grr! and didn't get back home till midnight. Yawn Shock

Right, going to close my eyes now on this lovely warm traizzzzzzzzz

Hooya · 11/12/2013 03:30

Hi all!

Congrats on your return to work Pineapple, how are you finding it? Is expressing going well? So good that you have facilities there!

Wing 6am departure is no fun, and rubbish not to be able to see the DCs in the morning. Hope you had a good train nap though!

Here we have some bad news, I've gone and broken my bloody foot! I was walking, stumbled and broke it. Gutted - I can't carry DS around anymore Sad and it makes our crazy Christmas travel plans even more difficult... I was so chuffed with my smooth transition back to work too...

Anyway otherwise we think we've found a nanny - well two actually, and hoping they can do 3 days and 2 days respectively. Trying to find any info on whether that's considered better or worse than a single nanny, any thoughts? We just really liked both of them and they are quite different, so we thought DS might benefit from both. Any thoughts welcome!

tiredteddy · 11/12/2013 18:08

Wow hooya! Poor you with the foot what rubbish timing though I guess it is never a good time to break your foot. Hope it heals well. Regarding the nannies I reckon it could be really good. It'll work much in the same way as a teaching job share I suppose with each playing to the strengths. I think it'll keep things fresh and interesting for your DS. Smile

WingDefence · 11/12/2013 19:16

Hmm, I'm afraid I can't really comment on the nanny situation but I'm going to be a bit difficult and suggest that just one key carer is probably best. But then again contradicting myself at nurseries they are looked after by a few people aren't they and it never did DS any harm!

I have a migraine so I'd better get off the iPad and close my eyes...

WingDefence · 22/12/2013 12:38

Oi - it's all quiet on here! Because we've all been swamped by Christmas preparations...?!

Well after I last posted I had a dreadful migraine which was no fun. And for the past week we've all been suffering from awful colds - I had to take DD to the emergency surgery after picking her up from the CM on Friday as she sounded so wheezy. Apparently her chest is clear but her cough and wheeziness haven't got any better so I may have to take her back tomorrow before everything shuts for Xmas :(

How are you all? What are your plans for Christmas?! Xmas Smile

notsoold · 23/12/2013 07:43

Still reading here!!!
I sorted about fb so could someone please add me when not busy with Christmas????

Wing... DD had a better night and is recovering! How worrying for you! Xx

Had my family and relatives this weekend. They stayed over my mum's and took over! In a great way! They brought the food etc , cooked, cleaned the house and sorted my teen ds as well. I have not done anything but feed lo and they would even burp him, change him, wash him!
It was the best!
Of course when invited to come over to come and have a meal with us my not so lovely sil ( my dh twin) said she couldn't as we are Brazilians!...
As if we have the plague!!! Although everyone but my dm, speaks a good standard of English, hold good jobs still foreigners!!! My dh said to her that we are not a bunch of Brazilians but a bunch of loving ppl...his ppl ( love the man).
She is coming today!!!
Sorry for ranting!!!

My xmas is otherwise sorted... Just need some soft drinks and another panettone!

Xxxx

tiredteddy · 23/12/2013 13:58

Hi all. Yes it's been very quiet. We have been hit by norovirus. Dd and I have had it very badly, in fact I'd say it's taken best part of a week for dd to shake it off. DH was very good clearing up and managed not to catch but the boys did. We are off to my mums for christmas tomorrow so I'll check back in in about a week. Emery christmas mumsnetters x x x x

WingDefence · 23/12/2013 15:47

"Emery Christmas" to you too tired! Xmas Wink If we catch a sickness big, what are the best tips for looking after babies? Calpol and water/milk?

notsoold, PM me a link to your Facebook account and I'll add you to the JSing grads group!

tiredteddy · 23/12/2013 17:15

Oh dear my typos do not improve! For sickness bug I was advised to feed dd as normal by 111. However the this just made her sick again when she had milk at night cue much changing of beds. Gp advised the old fashioned eat toast and watered down milk. So I gave her half strength milk for the rest of the week which helped her recover. Hope you don't get though x

BobaFetaCheese · 30/12/2013 14:35

Remarking place..will post later but DS2 has just nodded off so I'm going to play cars & horses with DS1 Grin

WingDefence · 30/12/2013 21:25

Boba I must have forgotten this but I don't recognise your username! Hi :)

Well we avoided the vomiting - hurrah! We had a lovely Christmas but then I developed really bad tonsillitis on Friday in the middle of a two day break away to see family and friends. I had to go to the emergency GP at the hospital yesterday morning for antibiotics and only now, tonight, I'm starting to feel like I've turned a corner for the better.

And it's DS's 5th birthday today so I do feel like I've let him down a bit as I was in bed most of this morning but he's still had a great day.

DD is being adorable! She was 9 months yesterday. She is so much more mobile than DS was at this age. He didn't even crawl till 9.5 months whereas DD is crawling, cruising, into absolutely everything and we have to have eyes in the back of our heads. With DS we never had to childproof our house but DD is going to be a nightmare, I can just tell Hmm Grin

Happy new year all!

BobaFetaCheese · 30/12/2013 21:43

It's Gary or Horse. Can't remember which name I was using last!

Hope you feel better soon Wing... It's amazing how different my DS's are & DS2 hasn't started moving yet, must be a shock to have to proof everything now for you.
Happy Birthday to your DS Cake

WingDefence · 31/12/2013 18:26

Aha Gary-Horse-Boba!! completely lost, you'll have to clarify on FB!

Well Happy New Year to all of us ex-shaggers Xmas Grin Wine and (because I've not had another reason to use it) Tardis

WingDefence · 06/01/2014 13:41

Hope you all had a lovely festive season? Any new year resolutions? :)

tiredteddy · 12/01/2014 22:02

To Mumsnet more????

Wink

Hi all it's been a bust Xmas with three dc. Happy days. Well tomorrow dd turns 1! I can't believe it! I'm busy making her cake now. No doubt I'll post some pics on the FB page tomorrow. Grin

WingDefence · 13/01/2014 11:47

Wow - it really has gone quickly hasn't it? :) Happy birthday MiniTired! Cake

DD has been suffering with teething recently. She popped THREE on the same day and now has two in the front middle and her top two incisors. I keep calling her my little vampire Grin It's meant that we are getting broken nights as she tosses and turns and groans. I probably jump out of bed far too quickly to go and settle her and I should let her grumble (it's not full-on crying).

Such a different experience than with DS. He has probably woken in the night fewer than 10 times in his whole 5 years and never suffered with teething at all. All we'd know is dodgy nappies and red cheeks and that'd be it. We didn't even really need to put dribble bibs on him. DD is a proper dribbly grumble monster. In fact, she's so textbook I am already dreading the terrible twos as that's something else DS never went through so I bet she's going to be a right madam!!

Okay, I should probably get on with some work...

Hooya · 18/01/2014 13:22

Hello everyone, and happy new year! I suppose it's a bit late to be saying that, on the 18th of January!

Things have been crazy here - Christmas in the UK, New Year in northern Japan, then back at work, getting used to the nannies, recovering from a broken foot!

Wing I think I'm still with you re having one carer for DS, but DP prefers two nannies and I said I'd defer to him on this unusual occasion! They seem to be doing great, and DS is still thriving. I am really struggling to express enough milk though but fighting supplementing for now - would love to make it to 6 months exclusive BFing...

Has anyone here done baby led weaning? I seem to remember someone had but can't remember who! Any advice? I am quite excited about it!

Pineapple80 · 18/01/2014 23:34

I have totally neglected this thread Confused! I hope everyone is well!!! Will pop in again to write more bit wanted to say hi! My DS is 7 month old Shock. Where did the time go? I'm back to work no which has been fine bit tiring...DS is sleeping thru the night (sometimes 12 hrs but lately waking earlier at 4 or 5am!) which has helped.

Happy birthday mini Tired!!!

Hooya I think Something did BLW with her youngest DS from memory. We are doing a mix of purees and finger food. But mostly purees and lumpy mashes...he loves it and recently doubled his intakes Grin.

WingDefence · 26/01/2014 20:17

You two are both such jet setters Wink

We didn't do BLW but have given DD finger foods from an early age. She's getting so independent now (almost 10 months Shock) that often she screws her little eyes up and shakes her head when she's had enough of being fed (it makes me and DH laugh!) and I'll just give her the spoon herself or something she can pick up herself on her highchair tray, she has a break and feeds herself and then we go back to spoon feeding. It's very cute :)

WingDefence · 06/02/2014 21:15

Hi vallinna Grin

Join in!

I've just been reading back through my posts on here and I love reading all about DD in the early days, weeks and months. Can't believe the past 10 months has gone so quickly though. I can't even really remember what it was like to breastfeed now and I did that till mid-Oct which isn't that long ago Hmm

Right, tons of work to get on with so best stop bloody procrastinating...
