Not very funny, really, was it?

Not at all, and I would say not a million miles from the truth.

bunnymother · 17/05/2010 15:06

Freudian slip?

longfingernailspaintedblue · 17/05/2010 21:03

Not very Freudian. Just nasty.

Liam Byrne has form on being a prick

When I first read it, I assumed it was David Laws making some sort of joke. Then I saw Liam Byrne actually did say that. What a .

It made a good headline, though, and helped get the point across. Thanks Liam.

did anyone hear Alistair Darling moaning about how DARE George Osbourne blame them for everything, it was just pure spite and Yes Minister - The PM programme pointed out that it was common behavior, in fact Darling himself had done so when entering No 11

Apparently the deficit is far, far higher than we thought. Great.

vesela · 17/05/2010 21:34

I think Laws can be forgiven for not being doubled up in laughter given the cuts he's going to have to make.

that's why I didn't get it at first - I didn't realise it was a normal thing. Osborne got a bottle, apparently.

Less a joke, more like a summary of the accounts. (actually, if there was merely no money left Mr Laws would be ecstatic - its the negative money left that's the problem)

Just saw Laws on Newsnight with Paxo, peculiar looking face but wouldn't have said humourless. Or twat, come to that, whereas Byrne def is one.

It is no joke. They have spent the money and are always interviewed in their beautiful gardens (or at least alaistair darling was today) and we have to pay for it and worry endlessly about how to make ends meet. They just don't have a clue [feeling sorry for self and cross with overspending govt emotion]

I am just surprised we have not heard about Gordon Brown shitting in the bed at No 10

ilovemydogandMrBrown · 18/05/2010 08:52

Oh please. The government has to report to the Public Accounts Committee, and undergo lots of audits, so it isn't as if there isn't absolute transparency.

The Tories/coalition have been shadowing the government for long enough to know exactly what the expenditure has been, and the income/tax plans.

So, Law was annoyed at not receiving advice?

LadyBlaBlah · 18/05/2010 09:00

Wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if they hadn't bothered to read them though
