So far it's just bitchy battleground after bitchy battleground in the political sphere. Gordy is a bully (so what's new?). Conservatives and their non-dom tax status (so what's new?). Is none of these people actually going to try and convince us why the hell we should vote for them? Much as I would like to be open-minded about voting for a party who I hope might actually win, I can see absolutely no reason to support either Lab or Cons.

there was an intresting thing on the radio regarding this, where someone said that they would like to know less about 'would your mum like david Cameron' and more about actual policies.

I'm quite interested in politics but I'm fed up with it already - mainly because the media is so shit. Using the tory Non dom example - everyone is going on about Lord ashcroft but no one is talking about the 10 million that Labour have accepted in donations from non doms! I hate be treated as stupid which is exactly what the media do so I'm going to bury my head in the sand and just emerge on May 6th!

I think they've been saying May 7th...surely GB only has a few weeks left now before he's obliged to set the date?

Also it did make me laugh that it took politicos all these years (since John Major at least) to finally decide to do a TV debate. Honestly. Why are they so lacking in imagination? Surely they could have just said: 'Well, let's try it as an experiment, and see how it works?' Sorry, silly me. I am expecting something akin to imagination/ creativity/ inspiration from politicians. Tsk.

I agree. I want to hear what they are planning on doing to improve the country, not bitch about each other. I hate election time, it's the only time I every hear from any of the parties, it's obvious they only want a vote and couldn't give a s*ite otherwise.

What they say they plan to improve the country doesn;t necessarily tidy in with what they are REALLY going to do.
Both Labour and the Tories have left this place in rack and ruins. Time for something new. They hve had over 20 years to prove how brilliant they are - and what have they given us? Crime, yobs, ASBO kids, crumbling schools, illiterate children, poverty for pensioners, soaring taxes, soaring petrol prices, soaring prices everywhere. Freedom of speech definitely on the way out, and if you are not part of some minority, you are barely regarded as a human being.
