this isnt meant to be intellectually well thought out I am just venting. Just been told women's suffrage needs re-evaluating by a BNP member.

I know I have invited comment and criticism on myself by writing about the BNP on my blog but I am still smarting a bit from it. I've just been told by one particularly insulting BNP man that all I have done is exemplify why women's suffrage should be re-evaluated. Yesterday (on FB) a bnp man sent me a message saying I looked tasty. I am just ranting for a minute because it all turns my stomach somewhat.

I know it is my own fault because I am willingly and eagerly writing my opinions on a public forum and it doesnt make me want to stop doing that or change it but I just feel angry at the moment and wanted to let off steam.

I like your post, and I like your idea of listing people who would be affected if the BNP got what they want.
You are entitled to go 'aargh' a bit about the dreadful comments. (I am PMSL at some of them too - 'Liberals are united in hate. Fact!' )

hereidrawtheline · 20/06/2009 10:37

thank you. I just feel so shit atm. I have been trying to reply in a calm non-offensive way and it has just seemed like abuse. And I am upset because I know the people who support my views are far more than those who do not but they are not posting. Its the ones who hate me posting. It just feels a bit shit atm but it doesnt matter I'll get over it. I am still going to do it.

I do know it is my own fault for inviting it. If I kept my head down and just wrote about all the other stuff I write about it wouldnt be happening. But I feel so strongly about this and I am trying to learn my lessons from history and not sit and do nothing so I am doing it. So I will take the shit for it, I hope you all understand that. I just feel upset about it at the moment & I dont want that to appear on the blog so I am talking about it here.

Kudos to you for doing it - it was never going to be easy!

And the nasty bigoted type people who have found your blog were always likely to post in a nasty bigoted way... wonder if removal of women's vote is official BNP policy, or just on the 'maybe' pile?!

Winter lemon sandcastle. FACT!
Hey, that works well! Might use it on MN...

hereidrawtheline · 20/06/2009 11:04

eek just posted then lost the post somehow

was just saying DH and I were talking about this and of course you are right. You could write something very true and good about human rights and Hitler would have torn it to pieces but it doesnt mean you are wrong or that you shouldnt have written it. It is totally illogical and irrational to be even slightly upset over it so I think that is why I am annoyed with myself.

Well, just proves my point that if you give these tossers enough rope, they always hang themselves. Be happy that they are showing themselves up in this way as the arseholes they really are. Gets it out in the open, lets people know who they really are (ie bunch of sociopaths). Well done for drawing some out.

duchesse · 20/06/2009 11:17

And frankly I wouldn't bother engaging with these people in any way unless it is to thank them for their contribution to the public debate about their sociopathy.

hereidrawtheline · 20/06/2009 11:18

duchesse that is sort of what I have been thinking. For most of the comments on the blog I have been saying very minimal things and just letting them get on with it. I figure I have no chance of changing their minds so really I am just providing the words on the blog and comments for other people's benefit if that makes sense.

This is what this person just posted on my blog

AT'ER GIRL!

Well Hardly, for one thing I am usually clean shaven and I don't believe in beating women with sticks, etc, etc.
However, I certainly am in error, in one respect, in terms of breaking my own cardinal rule in as much, as it is not a wise thing to take a woman's politics too seriously.
Nevertheless, I have to say that it makes me smile as to how you people can roll into town ( albeit some 8 years removed and thankfully this time without your military* in tow )and start preaching to us natives who it is acceptable for us to vote or not vote for.
I find this absolutely amazing, you guys* have got some nerve in this respect.
Of course, although, I expect I am not alone in thinking that a short dose of taliban discipline might very well serve the odd woman, here or there, a worthwhile lesson, it is not worthy to think this way in general as it is totally unacceptable to accept such practices in response to the behaviour of the odd woman, once again, here or there.

Continue to take those deep breaths hereidrawtheline until they stop shuddering.

Farking hell, whilst I know there are people who hold those odious views, it is pretty bloody appalling to see it directed in such a personal manner.

Continue to rant on here...and hold your head high on your forum.

hereidrawtheline · 20/06/2009 13:13

thank you Rindercella. I am still struggling to breathe properly.

I want to be able to post here totally anon so I can vent and not be traced back to my blog... just so as to not give them any ammo against me. But I dont know how to manage that and I am just not at peak performance right now.

All I said in my response was

"You just proved my point that the BNP and its supporters are a danger to society at large. Thank you for your contribution."

So I am managing to not show it upsets me. But its hard to hear someone talk like that directed at yourself without feeling an irrational urge to flee. I wont though I mean I am happy to do this. What I have done is prove that it needs doing. So there you go.

Vent away, they are prize twunts.

hereidrawtheline · 21/06/2009 12:50

that one particular gem is making even less sense at the moment so I feel a bit better.

ugh he is still waffling on telling me to "go home" and it is driving me nuts. I just dont understand.

OP posts:
TheCrackFox · 21/06/2009 16:23

They are so thick that they can't even work out that women make up 50% of the vote.

I think they should keep coming out with lines like re-evaluating women's suffrage then less and less people will vote for them.

hereidrawtheline · 21/06/2009 16:29

yes I know. I know he is making the point for me that I was trying to make. So I am glad about that.

If I am really brutally honest I am a teensy weensy bit frightened because he is so hateful towards me and in his latest post also mentioned taking me and "junior" home.

This is why I have spoken out about them is that I want to protect my son and indeed all children from racism and abuse. But it touches a nerve to hear it directed personally at your own baby.

OP posts:
TheCrackFox · 21/06/2009 16:43

If you have any concerns perhaps mention it to your local police. You have a basic human right to free speech and to feel safe in your own home.

I hate the BNP and I honestly can't believe that anybody votes for them.

hereidrawtheline · 21/06/2009 16:58

Well I guess there's no accounting for taste.

I just wish I felt my son was safe in the world at large. It makes me sad.

I've just read this thread, and your blog. He's vile and ridiculous, but I really don't think he meant any personal threats.

You're doing a good thing, keep your chin up (in a British way, of course ) and carry on.

hereidrawtheline · 22/06/2009 10:21

Thanks I will Dont worry I shall be stoic and continue sipping tea to the last.
