Andy Burnham’s new cabinet majority women so far

As the title says our new prime minister has so far selected a majority of women to be in his cabinet (8 women to 4 men as I type). Do you think this will have a positive impact on UK politics?

No.

Why would it?

The question is if they are woke brainwashed, and women are more likely to fall in that trap, esp if younger.

No.

Nope. Labour hasn’t even had a female leader - it’s all lip service.

Two fraudsters? No. A positive impact would be giving a woman a chance at the top spot. So why isn't this party keen to do that?

Back to men in the top jobs though

Yes, although Labour does seem to bend over backwards to avoid a woman leader. Breathed a sigh of relief when Miatta Fahbulleh got the Energy job.

Is that because you know what her policies are, or because you are just relieved to see the back of Milliband?

Let me just add that I know nothing about her.

I was worried the very difficult and long term work required to change our energy system wouldn't be seen through. But MF was energy minister in the department prior to the reshuffle. She's also an economist. Both her and Ed have the technical knowledge and the principles not to play silly games with energy security. The grid needs massive investment to take on more renewables and wean us off risky gas, and that work needs a steady hand from government.

Yes.Of course having visible women is a good thing.

Well men have f*ed it all up for the last decade let the women clean it up and make it better.

The only thing that will have an impact is good ministers and good policies. Gender is irrelevant. .

Given the flack Burnham has got for his lack of relevant experience to be PM, more women in cabinet it at least a good step forwards to preparing future female leaders.
