Such a pleasure watching CIII in Washington

It was really interesting watching some of the clips of King Charles III in the U.S.

When he spoke to Congress, I was wondering if Trump saw how much he suffers by comparison. Visually, Charles was slim and elegant and dignified in his suit. Verbally, he came off as restrained, dignified, and intelligent. Charles is so clearly a better reader and a better speaker. Plus better speechwriters. None of that can be said of Trump.

Interesting that when they were walking with a military man, he was between the two of them, with Trump walking considerably in front. I'm guessing that Trump is unable to make the kind of presidential small-talk that previously presidents could. Trump, as usual, seemed to make a few faux-pas, since he's oblivious to anyone else.

Among the late-night television comics, I enjoyed Seth Meyers mocking Trump:

I thought Charles did an excellent job. Chief diplomat indeed!

I am not a royalist but delighted Charles made his point eloquently and obviously over the head of his hosts. I didn't want them to go but also grown up enough to know we shouldn't be prodding the beast, better than him coming here which I would be forced to protest. As far as their comparatively dignified performance went, it's pearls before swine when it comes to trump, he is a fucking ill educated gauche oaf.

There is no career politician or elected President who could have done what C3 did. It was a masterclass performance.

I've been tilted back on favour of the Monarchy after a few negative years.

I also think the 15 year anniversary photo of the P&P of Wales and family was perfect.
