If Labour raises taxes what will you think?

Typing on my phone so not sure I can do a poll? But, if the government raises income tax or NI at the budget, will you think:

A - let’s get real, they had no other choice
B - those duplicitous / inept bastards

A but they should be reigning in their spending as they can’t afford it!

A - they have no choice but they were idiots to ever tie themselves to not raising the three major money raising taxes.

Whoever put that in their manifesto should be sacked.

A. If the Tories had done so rather than avoiding it to win votes then we might not be in the state we are now.

Depends how they do it, and if it’s alongside cuts in spending too.

A and I think they should go for it properly with a proper decent explanation of what it takes to run the country the way we want and need. No point being half arsed about it.

What does ‘really go for it’ in terms of tax increases look like though?

They should be cutting welfare and restricting Motability cars before more bloody tax raises

A. We need grown ups in government not fantasists promising everyone a free house / unicorn.

A. It's abundantly obvious taxes need to rise, no-one wants it but we do need functional public services.

A. They were left with a mess and if we want good public services we have to pay for them.

The initial budget means more tax rises are needed. They got it wrong and will probably need more and more each year.

A - we can’t have everything for nothing.

A. As long as it’s taxing the rich that’s fine by me (I include myself in that. I don’t think I pay enough tax)

I won't really care. It's not like it's going to make a massive difference to me, I earn decently and never really think about tax because I don't see the point in doing so. Not everyone's in the same boat, but I'm sick of people like me moaning about tax rises that really won't impact their lives.
