(I've seen people say this was a Left wing murder attempt bc it was an anti Semitic attempt to blame him for the Palestine situation. However, the would-be murderer voted Trump in the last election and previously had been an independent. There are also Palestine fanatics (not just reasonable campaigners) and anti Semites on the right, though it is more common on the left, so I don't think it should be labelled Left just bc it's those things)

United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson's murder is more difficult to classify as murderer held a mixture of left and right views, and was unaffiliated to a party.

BLM protests led to 25 deaths, by a mixture of left and right wing perpetrators. Will break this down later.

Tesla attacks on vehicles seem aimed more at the vehicle but also appear to intend to endanger human life- which they have.

Was the assassination on Trump confirmed to be someone on the left? Though it would make most sense, I thought that it was another Republican that attempted to kill him.

Not that any of that invalidates your post. I too am deeply concerned about the polarisation between the left and right. I know so many people who are happy with Kirk’s recent assassination that it’s scary. They say that people on the right had it coming for being so evil.

Society needs to stop analysing everything through the lens of victimhood , stop encouraging the race to the bottom, stop pitting people against each other and get people off their internet echo chambers and back out connecting with each other.

Of course if knew how to make that happen I would !

You couldn’t pay me to live in the states now. I’m not even sure I’d like to visit again, now I have children it seems to unstable to relax and enjoy a holiday.

Too many people with guns wrapped up in a world polluted by social media....that's my take on it all. Young men with hormones raging through their body listening to tripe online and becoming radicalised and angry.

Excuse me, @TheJoyOfWriting, but although your post is a little confusing and muddled, it looks to me as though your characterization of "left" is a little off. In general, the vast majority of the threats and the actual violence comes from Conservatives/Republicans, and indeed Trump is the only president who himself wallows in violent rhetoric.
In general, I'd be hard-pressed to come up with a single instance of a political murder or attempted murder was by an actual Democrat.

@MsAmerica There’s been good analysis of this on the BBC radio 5 today. There’s definitely a violent left in the USA. It might not call itself a Democrat but whipping up confrontation is going on by the left. It’s not one sided. The Americast contributors certainly were aware of it and some was attributed to politicians. They felt the governor of Utah had done well in the circumstances. There’s so much hate in the USA at the moment it’s upsetting really. Ditto here.

I'm sorry, but there are more and more statistics coming out - including something posted right here in this forum - which shows that this is simply not true.

I'm not saying that there aren't American lefties dreaming of violence. I'm saying that the vast bulk of the violent rhetoric, and the vast bulk of the targeted violence, comes from the far right.

Would you REALLY rather live in China under Party rule ? I wouldn't celebrate.the end of America just yet.
