Care/Nursing homes - Need change in law.

Please can you sign my petition attached and pass it round all your friends. I would be forever grateful. With the soaring temperatures we have been having, the old and vulnerable have been baking in many care and nursing homes. I have petitioned government to make it law that they should have access to a portable air conditioning unit in their rooms if they do wish. My dad passed away a few weeks ago. No complaints about the care home’s overall treatment of dad, but yes- every time we went into his room, we had to find the fans we’d supplied as it was so so hot and stuffy, there was no air flow at all. In my mind the heat was just too much for him.

Don't you have non-profit advocacy organizations that focus on health care and elder care? I imagine you should contact them.

So sorry to hear about your Dad. I lost my mum in 2016 so know how you are feeling. Thanks for the feedback. It's tough going getting the signatures and I get a lot of negative comments. Yours is the first post that's been positive and you've made my day. I will keep preserving but not now holding out much hope. Thanks again..
