I'm seeing similarities between the two, but it appears Trump is able to carry on and trash his own economy - along with quite a few other countries...

Trump has more supporters still thinking he's MAGA.

I wondered if he was deliberately stiffing the econonmy and had got investors betting on it and was set to make millions from the companies that lose out.

@Z0rr0 mmmm. That would not surprise me at all. He doesn’t seem to think through the implications of what he’s doing.

Hes bankrupted his own businesses a few times too 🥴

Zuckerberg and Besos must be seething, they ve lost 100s of millions. I doubt they want the pictures of them cheering him on at his inauguration to be reproduced in history books.

Yep - actions have consequences - and it seems there is plenty of them now

At least we were able to get rid of Truss thank God

Our checks and balances appear to be better. I've been disappointed by the lack of effect of the HOL who I always thought had some ability to act as a balance, but appear to just be a toothless guide but the rest of the system worked - apart from party members picking the PM - but I don't know a better option as a full GE would keep PMs who had clearly done their time from resigning.

The US constitution appears to be run assuming ethical consent and if you get a wrong un, there's no teeth to check in on his actions.

Unfortunately though when you get a country that allows someone to run as president after what happened on Capitol Hill last time you seriously need to self reflect! And to some, but a lesser extent, that allowed Biden to continue (albeit his work was probably being covered by others adequately)

Struggling to find any sympathy for them. They knew who he was when they backed him. I hope their photos with him take pride of place in the Trump chapter of history books.
