Trump's team in talks with Ukrainian opposition

Trump is stopping at nothing to try to topple Zelensky and his team have been holding secret talks with the opposition and former leaders - see link.

Why oh why does the media (even the more balanced media) not constantly remind us about Trump's longstanding beef with Zelensky (after he tried to bribe Zelensky into fabricating lies about Hunter Biden and he didn't want anything to do with it, leading to Trump's first impeachment)???. It's clear as daylight Trump's got a nasty personal hatred for Zelensky (for being an altogether better person, a true hero, and how jarring for Trump that he also hails from the TV world), - alongside his greed in wanting to get his hands on the minerals and his utter disregard for Ukraine's sovereignty and the world order and all that.

Seriously I don't get why all these things get swept under the carpet! It's murky as hell and he gets away with being given the benefit of the doubt the whole time!

I've run into this view before, but I'm not sure I agree. As far as I know, Zelensky didn't directly refuse, and the impeachment wasn't his fault. But Trump just has a beef against so many people.
I think it's more likely that Trump is just pandering to Putin.
