Just wow - she's incredible. Gives me so much hope for a world that's looking pretty dismal at the moment. Antithesis of the whole Trump movement. Go Kamala! 💪

Yeah but she's still not going to do anything about the murder of Palestinian people that's currently happening.

stronglatte · 23/08/2024 06:56

She's fantastic! And Michelle .... loved the speeches but hers shone

Getting the hostages out would end that

Really? I think there's more to it than that.

Userxyd · 23/08/2024 08:54

I don't know how the USA et al would accept Israel bombing kids and innocent people in Gaza if they'd released the hostages? Kamala talked about a ceasefire and giving Palestine the right to self determination - they want the bloodshed to end.

She's an intelligent and incredibly accomplished woman. I hope she secures enough electoral votes for a Jan 6 repeat not to happen.

Longhotsummers · 23/08/2024 08:57

I hope she’s convinced those who are waivering voters. Can’t even bear to think about another term of Trump. Finally it feels there is a credible alternative. 🤞

Exactly! All those years at the top and people still not knowing her is cos she's a serious hard worker - she hasn't been seeking the limelight she's been getting shit done. Think she's just what the world needs.

Me too. Hoping her references to supporting the middle classes (US working class) and her own background of honest hard work will help them see what a real leader looks like - not just that puffed up bullshitter who's only out for himself

Funny how posts like yours conveniently ignore the fact that the Palestinians were the aggressors, known throughout the world for terrorism.

dottiehens · 25/08/2024 04:32

Did she finally have a press conference or interview since being nominated?

SpuytenDuyvil · 25/08/2024 05:38

@dottiehens I've seen you say that repeatedly but I don't know why you think it matters? She was very eloquent when she gave her speech on Thursday. Plus, she was a prosecutor for years, as well as the Attorney General of the largest state in the US, which is an elected position. She is more than able to think on her feet.

She has literally been speaking on the campaign trail
Why do you need her to do an interview?

mellongoose · 25/08/2024 06:34

I like Kamala but being interviewed is important for scrutiny.

I don't share her politics but would like to see her beat Trump. America needs to move on from him. And quickly. The rest of the western world needs a functioning White House that is properly engaged in foreign policy.

sidsparrownew · 25/08/2024 06:48

She's had major help. If you're falling for it then you've not been paying attention. Left to her own devices she's a terrible speaker. You're getting another Biden, someone propped up by others. I noticed she won't agree to a Fox debate, unlike ABC they won't help her out. I'm no Trump fan either. The state of America if that's all they've got.

Look up What can be unburdened by what has been 🤣

She is not doing a Fox debate because they have unreasonable terms totally aimed at supporting trump. She is doing a debate on a less biased platform. This had already been agreed with Biden and Trump is pushing his luck because he knows he will look a fool.
I note you say she is a terrible speaker left to her own devices and yet apparently she doesn’t do any interviews 🙄.
For someone who isn’t a trump supporter you are spouting the standard trump stuff.
Maybe give her a chance to find her feet as someone who has just been thrust into this and in a few weeks you might be pleasantly surprised.

sidsparrownew · 25/08/2024 07:11

@Aussieland I don't have to spew anything, I've watched her debate in the past. Tulsi Gabbard sank her and showed her for what she is, a fraud, back in 2019. She was toast after that. She's terrible, and like Bidden she's a puppet. If the Biden administration had time to nominate someone else they would have, but they didn't, so they're coaching her, big time! She won't be running the White House or the USA just like Biden wasn't.

You don't think ABC is biased! Pull the other one!

ThreeFeetTall · 25/08/2024 07:28

Personally I'm fine with people having tutoring in public speaking if it's their job 🤷‍♀️

You think Trump ran the USA when he was in office? How did he manage that given his tv addiction, hours and hours of golf every week and his hatred of reading?! You think he kept on top of the issues and made his own mind up despite clearly not having a clue about 99% of what was going on? Plus he's a terrible public speaker if you rate that as an essential quality. Only interested in brief soundbites and talking himself and his interests up. All just hot air and conniving to enrich him and his buddies at the expense of everyone else. Awful human being.
We need Kamala!

I agree that she may not be the best speaker. But she's what there is, and luckily she's smart, assertive, with a legal background and the experience of the vice-presidency.

Well, in fairness, @HotChocWine, speaking on the campaign trail is a monologue. It's not the same thing as having to answer a specific question.

This would be GREAT but unfortunately I think that by the time they're at the top of the ladder in politics, most are too puffed up to consider tutoring.

Given the choice between Donald and a ham sandwich, I think a ham sandwich is far more scholarly.
I’d definitely vote for the sandwich.

Had it not been for those few people like John Kelly and the Generals on Donald’s staff, we surely would’ve met with disaster. I mean a bigger disaster than 6 January and the debt and his trying to overthrow the government by way of the overturning the election.
And Covid - we were met with disaster thanks to Donald and his son-in-law Jared Kushner (who was happy to see Covid spread in states that didn’t support the former president). Evil. No other word for it.
And then a couple of months after the 45th administration ended, Kushner brought back $2Billion from Saudi Arabia. And nobody knows why. I think we should ask why. And how. And I think it should be investigated by Congress.
