I'm glad this is being exposed in so many places. For once a lie is challenged!

The thing is the more it stays in the headlines even though it's untrue it's causing damage as it plants the seed. The moral rectitude Rishi promised on day one has gone up in a puff of smoke. I found him unbearable in the first debate talking over Keir. I wanted to give him a chance post the BoJo chaos but now he's right up there again as a villain for me. He lies, and has no shame.

What a shame they didn’t do this with Brexit claims! The biggest con of my lifetime. Why are they just getting interested now? It’s far too late. We are so much worse off due to Brexit they would be better off exposing those lies with the same vigour. Labour keep promising sunny uplands that are not costed. I suspect when they are, we might get forensic investigation of their figures which almost certainly don’t add up. Their finance assumptions need far more investigation and we will find out if the Cons are right. Many of us think they will be because all sorts of finance could be taxed, eg pension contributions. If Labour don’t put up tax thresholds, of course we will pay more tax. VAT rates can be altered. For ambitious spending, money has to be found. So I expect the cost to be £1999 per household!

Yet Sunak keeps repeating this lie. Does he think the electorate is too stupid to see through it? Or is he already at the point where he is just going through the motions?

He knows it will stick with some people. That's why Mordaunt did it last night too.
