The Conservatives ranted on about "locking people up" that were found with a knife, balded/pointed instrument

Nearing the election this year the Labour jokers are now saying 'lock them up on the second offence' ie carrying a knife, bladed instrument etc

What Labour leader is ignoring the fact that in London with a population of around 9 million knife crime is rife, agitators are not always locked up, nor are they always locked up the second time they are caught with what is deemed a weapon - and the Labour leader should know London has a Labour mare

Both parties bang on about "law and order" but come to the crunch - it is as almost always, empty words

Those Zombie, knives - the gov has made a new law but waiting until September 2024 to make it law - WTF

When your Labour or Tory candidates bang on about 'law and order' - as them why they had NOT acted earlier???

Ask the Labour leader about London ad crime and their Labour mayor and crime has it risen in your city and why and why has stop and search used more widely??

If I was stopped and searched and reason given and they were professional about it I and millions of others would not have a problem. For the record, my parents are from south Asia

Hmm. Kitchen knives in nearly every house in the country. If you want a knife they are widely available. More important is stopping people carrying knives.

Of course no one is tough on law and order. The stop and search was clearly biased and that’s why there’s issues with it. Too often not evidence based. We don’t have enough police to be tough and never have had.

Getting tough on it and locking people up are tackling the problem from the wrong end - tackling the end effect not the causes

TizerorFizz · 28/01/2024 15:21

@midgetastic Exactly. It’s political rhetoric and lazy lawmaking. Banning certain knives doesn’t remove knives. Plenty more available.

Plenty carry knives becuase they're frightened of what others might carry.

Not sure prison time will help there, they'll just come out equipped with more knowledge.
