Morning Voters,

A London Tory Mayoral Hopeful has had allegations printed about him re historic alleged groping.

If the woman does not make a police complaint, is he free to run in your opinion?

Daisy Goodwin: Why I’m naming the man who groped me at No 10

Yes of course he is free to run.

It's his word against hers until an investigation has taken place.

Which doesn't mean I doubt what Ms Goodwin says happened.

@Moredarkchocolateplease I totally agree. FWIW I always believe the complainant, but a published article is not a police matter. He could sue her for libel, I guess?

It depends whether you believe in the premise of "innocent until proven guilty" I guess.

I suspect he'll be dropped (or whatever they do) as a potential candidate though.

CCHQ say that they will not investigate. Looks like he will stay a candidate to be the candidate,

There is backlash against her but why would she make it up.

She says at least one other woman will come forward with similar allegations. I expected that. She wouldn't have gone public with this unless she knew of other cases, surely? Sadiq Khan must now be a shoo in for re-election. Not greatly taken with him, but better him than a groper.
