How is this acceptable?

because many citizens are fed up with crime and yes some criminals are under the age of 18. many i gather from a previous thread and known to the criminal justice system and wave their rights to a guardian being present.
if they claim they will self harm or harm others sadly they need to be fully examined for their own safety.
why do you think it's wrong?

@fallfallfall Maybe it would help if you read the article first before commenting. According to the article the majority of them were innocent. Also how can a child waive the right to a responsible adult being present?

I read it, read similar in March several mn treads on the topic.

And yet every day or so, we get another thread on here about how intimidating the youth of today are... Teachers too scared to challenge students, mothers too scared to say no to their sons, neighbors living in fear of teenage gangs in parks...

Yes, a lot of teens are innocent, but many are guilty too. Sadly, in the process of finding the bad ones, we will occasionally get the wrong person. We need to hold our hands up and say sorry when this happens. However, we can't led the rise in youth crime go unchallenged either.

Claiming to have a “blade” on your person and found to not be in possession of the item is in no way the same as not being found guilty and being innocent.
