"Red wall / Blue wall voters don't care about climate change." True?

I was watching a politics show earlier and apparently the red/blue wall MP's are saying that the government shouldn't prioritise Net Zero as red/blue wall voters don't care about environmental issues or climate change.

Forgive my ignorance as a London dweller and no doubt a dreaded metropolitan liberal, but can this really be true?

Does anyone on here live in a former red wall now blue wall constituency? If so, is it the case you and your community care little about climate change? How can anyone not care about it??

Probably not, but I haven’t lived or worked in a red wall area since the last century. Voters, and perhaps particularly tory voters, have less money in those former red wall seats than their counterparts in the south. Some politicians and commentators are extrapolating from this that because their lives are tougher in many ways, red wall voters will be less concerned with the environment and more concerned with employment, infrastructure and other economic issues.

Well..if you watched you know that is a misrepresentation of what was said.

I live in a red wall area and care about climate change. I can't speak for anyone else round 'ere because I'm an anti-social, friendless type.
