Politics

To be exhausted and bored of this Gov’ts style

I am so tired of this governments divisive rhetoric and posturing. Really want some serious politics at these serious times.

Examples are lack of decision making, ERG, CRG covert secret groups in WhatsApp vying for power and influence, Boris Johnson calling Angela Raynor ‘she’ rather than The Right Honourable, lies, sound bites, flags, more lies, hypocrisy, cover ups, lack of clarity, roller coaster politics. It’s juvenile.

And worse, I think it’s purposeful to distract us too. I can’t trust a government that has launched a war on its own population at a time of crisis - a culture war is a declaration of hate against its own citizens.

Enough is enough. We need a different style of politics.

Yes... but how to get there....

Threewheeler1 · 07/01/2022 13:44

Agreed. Utterly sick of it all. But that's the danger I suppose, that we switch off or stop watching what these nasty buggers are up to.
It all needs changing, HoL, honours, FPTP, boundary meddling, jobs for mates, the old boy network, secret lobbying, second 'jobs' etc etc.
Indeed, where to start!?

bubble2000 · 07/01/2022 13:46

Staying on track with main issues and not following red herrings / dead cats would help....

BigGreen · 07/01/2022 13:51

Yes, absolutely. Tired of trying to follow along and figure out if there is actually a strategy behind this mess.

CorrBlimeyGG · 07/01/2022 13:56

Just watching Andy Burnham talking about introducing a duty of candour, specifically in relation to disasters such as Hillsborough and Grenfell, but also on a wider scale. Basically, being open and honest. Unbelievable that we need a law or code telling public figures that they should be honest.

bubble2000 · 07/01/2022 13:59

But we do! We are here! Joe biden speech yesterday if fantastic- about favourite g the reality that far right are holding a knife to the throat of democracy.... its happening all over

I hear you, I totally despair at the mess they have led us into, and continue to lead us further into. Whilst all the time lying, cheating, feathering their own nests, and turning the voters against each other.

I need to feel hope again.

No point listening to Boris&Co or expecting them to do better. Starmer's worse than useless, and nobody I know can explain what the LibDems are trying to achieve.

A massive system upgrade is long overdue.

Women got the vote about a century ago, only to find that they actually have nobody worth voting for. This century the reform must go next level, and extend to the entire political system and culture.
