before becoming an education minister. Seen the government-leaked proposal for September, and having only gone through school appeals process, I see the flaws. Should it be a requirement for a an MP in charge of education, defence, health at the very least have some connection to the field? Gavin Williamson was the MD of a pottery company. Should he not be minister of commerce or trade and industry?

@sarah12398

His wife is a teacher.
That likely makes it worse, as he will listen to one view over all others.

Should have put 'may', I don't know if he listens to his wife or not!

Thanks all early morning rumblings. Just seen Theresa May thinks a national security adviser should probably have some experience in security. So may I'm wrong or right.

Not sure my husband working in Cyber security should be my ticket to understanding the issues. Also where does she teach state/private/sub?

I get that they have advisers but clearly no-one has listened to them. A panel makes the most sense to me. Time being of the essence is assisted by technology from Zoom and the like.

Look, if I can see flaws with my limited experience of schools, not sure why common sense does not prevail, assuming he's not an idiot. His CV doesn't read like he is one.
