Anyone else not yet got their Labour leadership ballot?

That’s it really, is there anyone else out there who hasn’t had an email? I’m assuming it’ll be an email as I’ve got all the other main party and leadership emails.

I’ve been a member for ten years and my surname begins with L, if that makes any difference at all?!

I know the party is saying not to contact them until tomorrow if the ballot email or papers hasn’t been received (and I have been checking my junk email as usual), but I just wanted to know whether anyone else is in the same position.

Me. I've got the emails from the candidates, but not my ballot paper.

Thinking about it, neither has my daughter, as I'm sure she would have mentioned it.

Surnames begin with G and F, respectivley

WingDefence · 01/03/2020 19:59

Ah thanks for responding @user1471453601 (that’s not an easy NN to type out!).

I put my surname letter in case they were sending them or alphabetically but I could only really understand that if I was at the end.

I’ll contact them tomorrow and will update on here as to what happens - or whether it turns up before then!

That would be really helpful @WingDefence. It will give us the heads up on if we need to contact them ourselves.

I'm not feeling greatly trusting of LPCO at the moment. I've been a member for years and got an email from them on the Saturday before the closing Monday that enables you to vote saying i needed to join immediately if I wanted to have a vote. I "rejoined" to be sure, but since then, my CLP Secretary has confirm ed that I've always been a member.

Hey ho. I just want my vot e, so if appreciate you letting me know what they say

WingDefence · 01/03/2020 21:00

Hmm that’s a bit rubbish :/
Right will let you know if I hear any more.

I joined online on 5 January. My application has been confirmed but I have received nothing else. I have phoned up twice and last week was told it was ‘being processed’. I am beginning to feel quite disheartened as to whether Labour wants me or not!

WingDefence · 02/03/2020 12:55

Hi @Sunday10 - I'm not sure what's going on at LHQ as I've been trying to get through on the phone since 9am and the answerphone message still says that members can't contact about ballot reissue until... Monday 2nd March. Then it kicks me out :(

Re: your membership in general though, have you tried logging into the membership section of the website as it might let you in even if you've not received anything else yet? Also try to find a contact for your constituency labour party (CLP) as they should have your details if you've been processed (I think so anyway, that's how it happened with me).

Thanks Wing Defence, I will try the local Labour Party when they are open (they are closed today). I did send an email query via the membership section to LHQ at the beginning of last week, but did not get any response.

FUSOI · 02/03/2020 13:55

piss up and brewery comes to mind

WingDefence · 02/03/2020 14:16

Right I finally got through by selecting another option on the phone line. He confirmed my details etc and apparently ballots are still being sent out so he said if I've not received it by Friday 14th to then contact them. I was really polite and just said that someone needs to amend the wording on the website, plus the option on the phone line about ballot reissues because they both say to contact them today and it's just about managing expectations... He said I was the nicest disgruntled person he'd spoken to today. Grin

I got mine by email last week, my husbnd hasnt had his yet we both have the same suurname. But I subscribed to email updates when I joined, he didn't (but he has now) I wonder if that is why I had mine and he hadn't.

user1471453601 · 02/03/2020 15:11

@WingDefence, thanks for the update. DD found her ballot papers in her " junk" box in her emails.

Checked mine but it wasn't there.

I know this sounds bad @FUSOI, but I imagine most people working in LPHO are supporters who work for less money than they could get elsewhere, so I tend to be a little more forgiving

I'll wait now instilled new date. Poor guy on the phone, but we'll done for staying polite.

WingDefence · 02/03/2020 15:22

Oh I couldn't get cross with him at all - I'm not really angry as such myself, it's just about managing expectations though isn't it? I mean if the website and answerphone message had been updated to say 'sorry but it's taking longer than we thought', I wouldn't have worried about it or tried calling c.30 times today!

DH and I have not got our ballot papers / emails either, so I will pull up a chair and join you.

WingDefence · 02/03/2020 19:07

Hi @ElenadeClermont Grin

I've pretty much decided who I'm going to vote for after reading and watching as much as I can over the past few weeks. Just want to vote and then ignore things until the start of April really!

ElenadeClermont · 03/03/2020 08:34

@WingDefence Exactly.

ElenadeClermont · 03/03/2020 19:51

Mine has arrived. Yay!!!

WingDefence · 03/03/2020 22:45

Oh brilliant! Happy voting Grin

Thank you.

For anyone else who hasn't got theirs, the website has now been updated and there is a direct link to the election company to request another email: labour.org.uk/people/leadership-elections-hub-2020/frequently-asked-questions-leadership-elections/

I've just asked for mine and it has come through straight away. :)
