Hello could someone please explain what it means that the govt was found in contempt of court re Brexit legal advice please as I don't understand.
Is this good or bad for Britain that the legal advice has to be published?
Does it mean more people/MPs will be against TM Brexit deal if they see this legal advice?

Not contempt of court - contempt of parliament. Basically the government has joined the rest of us.

Publishing legal advice is on the face of it good - but - most people will not read it and get fed soundbites by the media taken out of context.

Papers like this always have worst case scenarios and aren't always fully explained.

For example I used to write Safety Cases for Air Traffic Control systems. Paragraph 1 of several hundred pages read "This system shall be tolerably safe". That freaked a good many non-technical people out. Tolerably safe for that system was one collision in 10000 years but nobody ever read that far.
