To be really pissed of with the greens

So Hollyrood are back in tomorrow.

The greens are going back on their manifesto completely. I would never be able to consider them as a trustworthy party now especially as it is a constitutional issue-so big stuff.

What do you think about them backing the SNP for indyref 2?

Polls consistently show that scots on the whole do not want one.

It makes it impossible to vote for the greens again no matter what your position is on environmental issues.

It makes me so cross now because it is on such a major constitutional issue.

Polls have been wrong before - on the last referendum and the Brexit one. Also it's because it's such a major constitutional issue that there should be another chance for us to have our say, things have changed so much since September 2018 and a lot of people feel they were very seriously misled by the 'no' camp.

It was signed by 218000 people.

I think the yes side misled us actually. The snps own economists said the predictions on the white paper were wrong.

Surely they were not in a position to promise what they did, given that negotiations would need to be had with UKgov first.

Ok, so - both sides feel misled, the situation has not been resolved so let's have another referendum! Although the decision to go ahead with it is not in the hand of you or I, so the way to get our voices heard is by voting.

While I understand what you are saying there are 3 big reasons why I do not agree.

1. The campaign was so divisive and nasty- It divided family and friends in many cases and many people have not had the chance to heal those divisions yet. It has cause damage within my own family.
2. It is very expensive to have a referendum. Surely it would be better to have one when there is more chance of success. It will surely look a bit silly if they ask for yet another one (which would only be a matter of time). The huge amount of money could be spent on education and the NHS. 3)Her reason for having one does not seem a reason at all. If Scotland had voted yes the last time we would already have been out of the EU, even if we vote out this time we will still need to reapply and I'm pretty sure Spain will veto us. We will need to reduce our deficit which will take years and years of SNP austerity (which Scottish people have not liked so far, and it would be much worse). Also many people who want independence do not want to be in the EU, they want true independence. If people vote for independence and do want to be in the EU, there are no guarantees of being able to join.
