Republicanism in Australia, Canada and New Zealand

If at some point in the future, any one of these three countries were to become a republic, do you think it would damage the monarchy?

Would Britain still be able to maintain a positive relationship with that country?

Also, if one of these nations became a republic, would it create a domino effect causing the other two to follow suit?

For further reading, here are links to the major republican organisations in these countries:

Australia
Canada
New Zealand

I don't think Britain will be too bothered to be honest.

I'm Australian and I think the cultural bonds are deeper than that. I don't think devolution has meant Wales is seen all that differently, do you?

There wouldn't be any day-to-day impact on Britain I don't think.

I should also say I think it's only a matter of time.

I don't think anyone cares to be honest. The queen and by extension the royal family are just figureheads at the end of the day.

Being a republic won't make any difference to the citizens of those countries.

Britain has a fairly good track record of maintaining cordial relations with former empire countries. We've been shedding nations for years, nice and quietly without too much fuss. Always a little mystifying that places like Aus and NZ don't go the whole hog. Maybe they're waiting for all the ex-pats to die first?

Didn't Australia have a referendum about this a few years ago and decided to keep them? Dp (who is Australian) thinks they will become a republic when the queen dies. Most of Dp's family (who live in Aus and NZ) love the royal family and hate the idea of getting rid of them.
I don't think it would damage the monarchy, in fact I think they are probably expecting big changes when the queen dies.
