Will the Coalition hunt down rich tax evaders as promised?

SAD to say, I suspect they wont. They will make token gestures. A few big trials maybe. But it wont go much further...

Hope they prove me wrong.

And, no, Labour did not do much in that area.

They're putting nearly £1bn into the task and expect to get £7bn back so I think they're serious about catching more financial criminals. I hope, as well as rich tax evaders, the spotlight also falls on the cash-in-hand merchants at the other end of the spectrum.

They've put a lot of resources into go after tax evaders so I think they will get some revenue. Unfortunately tax evasion will never be eradicated whilst people continue to agree to pay people "cash in hand" in order to get a lower price.
