Come off it, all recent governments have done "leaks" when it suits them. Please cut the cr+pola MOD and Dr Whatsit.

Whilst leaks are a standard way for ministers and minions to get sensitive information out into the public domain second-hand, this is the MoD we're talking about, not DEFRA. It would be careless to put this all down to the usual 'cr+pola' and then find that the same person intercepting the Minister's private mail was also passing on troop movements to the Taliban.

They are all bound by the Official Secrets Act as well, and a Military Officer leaking letters (if it was military as opposed to the Civil Service is a court martial offence).
