June 2010 - MN Christian Prayer Request Thread: Captain Dippy apologises for going AWOL ....

She's back!!!!!!

Gosh, I am soooo sorry for a rather prolonged absence. Since going on holiday last month to Center Parcs I just feel like life has been zoooooooooming along at about 100 mph. I kept meaning to catch up here, but never quite meaning to do it. so sorry!! Having said that, I have been "chatting" to DO, Mary, Jen and others on Facebook a bit and Mary very^ kindly took my 'phone call about my mother outlaw's friends' daughter and granddaughter who have been involved in the horrific car crash.....

There was no one else involved. It seems that the daughter just drove into the wall of a shopping centre. No idea why. It was though initially that the granddaughter had the more severe injuries and was airlifted to hospital; but the daughter had to be cut out of the car and turned out to have the worse injuries. They have both been through hours or surgery and are now in induced comas. They both have some really awful injuries including broken bones, major internal abdominal injuries, possibly spinal problems and the granddaughter has concussion and possible major cranial injuries. It is just unthinkable awful. Please, please just pray for a miracle. The major worry at the moment is the daughter's abdominal injuries might cause Peritonitis, which could prove very serious. She also has a very dangerous blood clot in the top of her thigh. I just cannot imagine what her parents are going through, and her husband. This is all too awful.

Gosh.

Well I have a summary of all the prayer requests from the beginning of May to the present for you all. I am afraid I just simply couldn't cope with summarising April as well. I hope you don't mind!!

Thanks CD, am still praying for a miracle...

amberlight · 18/06/2010 14:05

Thanks CD.
Update:
DH now on a lot of tablets after last year's brain haemorrhage and I'm still worried for him because he gets stressed so easily.
We're still awaiting news on ds's eyesight - potential operation in August.
I've recently experienced a very sudden loss of hearing which may never come back and, adding to being autistic etc is leaving me feeling really scared.
Plus a major bit of charitable work is going horribly wrong and there's nothing I can do to stop it, which is awful.
It feels like I need to just stop even trying to survive.

DutchOma · 18/06/2010 16:14

Thank you very much Dippy.

Baby Morgan is home and doing well. Kathy has calmed down, her mother had a pacemaker fitted and is doing well, so thank you for your prayers. God is good.

roslily · 18/06/2010 18:44

thanks CD. I have now been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and am under discussion about medication. However I am trying to rise above this and see this as the way I have been created.

I am still finding my way with God, we have some childcare issues and money worries so can I ask for prayers, mainly for me to trust in God to help us find a way.

Glad, baby morgan is ok DO.

CaptainDippy · 18/06/2010 19:01

You are all lovely

The mum involved in the accident is now awake apparently. I don't know any more than that.

OP posts:
BlueEyeshadow · 18/06/2010 19:54

Thanks from me too, CD.

Our neighbour's not-quite-grandson is no longer staying with them, but thanks for reminding me to keep praying for them!

Prayers still needed for a job and flat for my brother, and for wisdom in relationships for my BIL.

We're up and down on the sleep front, but still definitely in need of prayer. DS2 has another cold at the moment but thankfully DS1 is recovering well from his mishap.

PositiveAttitude · 19/06/2010 06:24

Thank you Captain.

Lots to pray for on this thread, what a privilege!

Here, DH has 5 weeeks to go at work, still waiting on God for the next step. An interview on July 9th (3rd interview for this job). We are both feeling very much at peace about everything.

We are off to Greece for a holiday on Thursday. First ever holiday abroad as a family. Off to attend a wedding of a good friend - DH is best man! CAnt wait, all so excited, but prayers that everyone is calm and enjoys themselves without any stresses, please. (5 teenagers, 4 of which are hormonal females and one testosterone fueled DS - Eeeeek! )

MaryBS · 19/06/2010 07:47

Enjoy your holiday, PA, praying for that elusive God-driven job for your DH!

BES praying for your brother

CD for that lady and her daughter. Praying that she being awake is a good sign...

Roslily, praying for a sense of peace for you, as you come to terms with your dx, and yes, God made you the way you are for a reason. A number of us on here have had diagnoses of one condition or another - some more recently, others a bit longer. I have a friend at church who is bipolar - didn't know it until she told me, it is very well controlled by medication - she found her diagnosis liberating. I DO know that she has a kindness and level of understanding which is rarely found in people who don't have a 'cross to bear', and she has given me great strength when I needed it.

CaptainDippy · 19/06/2010 22:54

Ooooh, a holiday PA Enjoy .....

Prayers for miracles regarding our finances would be great. Not good. Not good at all ....

Hoep you are all having super weekends

CaptainDippy · 19/06/2010 22:59

Just had this email from mother outlaws friends about their daughter and granddaughter .....

Although we didn't go to see K (mum) and P (DD) today, we have received an encouraging phone call from J (husband) and T (brother) who did. There is still a long way to go and they remain in intensive care - Kate, in particular, still has some acute medical issues - but both are now off the critical list!

Both are now able to communicate, and this gets easier as various tubes are removed and less powerful drugs are used. The best news medically is that damage in the abdominal region may be somewhat less than first thought - certainly there was no talk today (Friday) of removing P's spleen, although she will be having a blood-transfusion on Saturday. It is so good when progress can be seen on a daily basis. So thank you for all your prayers - they really make a difference. Please keep them coming.

Please keep praying. Thank you

Hermya321 · 20/06/2010 09:36

CD Thats so cool!! Praise God!

Rosily Praying for you.

PA Prayers for your holiday.

Can you please pray for me at work, I'm currently having a very stressful week and I'm really feeling it at the moment. I'm speaking with my boss and hopefully will be able to express the fact that I'm so stressed. I know I shouldn't worry, but I think after my panic attacks I'm a little more prone to it at the moment so I have to be aware a little more.

DH thinks it's a bit of an attack, my job is the result of Gods call and direction and I really feel that he has stuff for me to do there. I just would appreciate prayers for protection and also some relief from the stress as I'm getting physical symptons as a result.

I do appreaciate this, thank you. I'm praying for you all as well.

amberlight · 20/06/2010 13:13

Prayers aplenty for each of you

roslily · 20/06/2010 16:18

MaryBS · 21/06/2010 07:20

Sooz 92!!!

Praying for you all... especially those for those who feel low, anxious or stressed. I was preaching on loving the unloveable and forgiveness yesterday, managed to squeeze in a joke, which I'll share, to cheer everyone up...

A woman bought a parrot for a pet. The parrot had dreadful behavioural problems. It would constantly insult her and every time she tried to pick it up, it would peck at her. One day she got fed up with it and as she picked it up, it continued with the insults..."you're ugly! I can't stand you!" and it pecked at her arm as she carried it. She opened the freezer door and threw him in and closed the door. From inside, the parrot was still going on for about 5 minutes and then it was suddenly quiet.

She thought, "Oh no, I killed it!" She opened the door and the parrot just looked at her. She picked it up. Then the parrot said:

"I'm very sorry. I apologize for my bad behaviour and promise you there will be no more of that. From now on, I will be a respectful, obedient parrot."
"Well OK" she said. "apology accepted". The parrot said "Thank you". Then he said, "Can I ask you something?" She said, "Yes, What?"
And the parrot looked at the freezer and asked, "What did the Chicken do?"

teaandcakeplease · 21/06/2010 08:34

Hello

My mum is having an operation for her knee, I thought it was tomorrow but someone's posted on her facebook profile today saying goodluck for today, so I'm now confused but eitherway, pray for protection as it's a general anesthetic, pray they fix the problem and she heals quickly. She literally found out 2 weeks ago after months of physio not working and being referred that she's torn ligaments and has damaged cartiledge

Still if this finally fixes the problem, that would be amazing. She's only 65, so plenty of life left in her yet

Thank you ladies x

Notquitegrownup · 21/06/2010 09:14

Mary love it!

Lurking a little and praying, on my day off. Still tooooo busy, but there is light at the end of the tunnel on this, and I am hoping that after our hols in August, the ridiculously busy schedule I have been on since October will finally ease.

Please could I add a request too for ds2? He has a broken tooth and an abscess, and is in a lot of pain. I suspect that he will have to have it out under GA, so prayers please for us all to cope with that.

He is also struggling to understand why God won't heal him, (we have always said healing prayers when unwell) so prayers for his relationship with God to grow through this time, would be much appreciated.

Thank you! Has Mufti left us, or does she still pop in occasionally?

God bless all.

DutchOma · 21/06/2010 09:17

Mary
Soozi, thanks I'm fine.
Had a wonderful weekend with Emily and the children coming over and staying for two nights. Steep learning curve, for all of us. One lesson learned: put the toilet rolls out of Merry's reach or they go in the toilet before their time.
Blessing for all

teaandcakeplease · 21/06/2010 10:31

Ooo it definitely is today at 12.00. Oops not making a good daughter am I? Not knowing these things

Praying for your DS Notquitegrownup

mufti · 21/06/2010 11:11

pops in now and then NQGU

roslily · 21/06/2010 11:42

Mary that made me laugh out loud!

Prayers for your ds notquitegrownup and for youmum TACP.

I am marking exam papers at the moment, so I am praying for persistence (it gets hard going in the middle!)

Is it ok to ask for prayers that my ds sleeps later than 5am? I know it is small, but working full time, marking exam papers etc is exhausting me!

Praise God on such a beautiful day

Clockface · 21/06/2010 14:52

Hello all!

CD - if you feel the need to apologise for not posting, how about me? I haven't been on here in aaaaaaages! I am sorry - life just gets very very busy sometimes.

Anyway, as term has finished (hooray!) I am hoping to have slightly more time to do the things I used to do, like MN.

And to introduce myself to everyone new(ish) - I used to post here a lot until about a year ago. I was...ermmm...can't remember all of my nicknames! I started off as TexasRose, I can remember that. Maybe I should revert - that was a pretty name, except that everyone thought that I was American (I'm not).
