Islamic studies is part of the school curriculum so they will be miles behind their peers. Have googled Amazon and found

islamforchildren

I know nothing about Islam so wonder if its any good or if you have any other recommendations (I'll also be reading the book !)

TIA

my children aren't really old enough so i haven't got any Islam guides for children i could recommend.

This is an introductory guide to Islamic civilisation for children that has quite a lot on religion, though it's about Islamic culture in general rather than just belief.

try the [http://www.muslim-ed-trust.org.uk/plist.php?use=6c09qkx3qeU69hfa3TKxH6M0C&cid=1&ude=1740380941 muslim educational trust]]

The red one is very good but the blue one below by the same author is probably better for that age group.
