Has anyone 'seen' an angel?

What happened and why did you think it was an angel you were seeing?

I have...

I had run upstairs and hidden in my bedroom after a DV incident downstairs (not my father, before anyone thinks otherwise!)

Shortly after, I heard footsteps on the stairs and landing - the abuser was coming, so I said a quick "Just protect me" prayer and the next thing I knew, there was a man sitting on the end of my bed with a (cliche alert) bright white t-shirt on and there was an incredible light in that area of the room.

He said "Nothing will happen" and it didn't - the abuser went into his own room and laid unconscious til morning in a drunken, drugged stupor

I believe with all my heart that what sat on the end of my bed was either an angel or Jesus himself...

Many years ago I was told that I had seen my guardian angel.

I knew a woman who considered herself a medium. I am always sceptical about such things, often think they are showmanship and fantastic people-reading skills, but I knew this woman fairly well and she was not good at reading people.

Anyway, one day she told me that she could feel the presence of my guardian angel. Apparently he had come to me a few nights earlier, and I was still encircled by his protection. She described him as a quiet, solid man, wearing a dark tunic.

This astonished me, as I had not told anybody what had happened the previous week. I had been having nightmares almost every night for some time, but one night I dreamed there was a man sitting in a chair at the head of my bed - a quiet, solid man in a dark tunic. He gave me a sense of calmness and protection. From that night I had no more nightmares.

I've never seen an angel but I've felt a loving/comforting prescence occasionally, and had a couple of weird experiences while having Reiki healing. (My mum is qualified and does treatments for me occasionally)

The first was a strong smell of burning or smoke. I assumed it was incense or something and didn't mention it until after the session, when I described it and she said how strange, because one of her guides is an American Indian and always smells strongly of smoke, and had been there that day although he wasn't usually.

The second was a loud bang or crack noise in the corner of the room which made me jump, again I didn't think anything of it, but mentioned it afterwards (sort of, what was that loud bang?) and Mum said she hadn't heard it at all but that it sounded like a spirit type noise.

The third was weird - I had been feeling quite emotional that day anyway, but had calmed down by this point. She had her hands over my face and it was making me feel a bit sick, but not too bad - I didn't feel like I was going to be sick if that makes sense. Anyway suddenly I just started crying huge great sobs, I don't know where it came from, and I don't cry very easily, so it was weird

I once spent a year travelling often through quite dangerous third world countries. On my first week in one country a woman tied red string around my wrist to 'keep me safe'. A month later I was stranded at a train station at 1am with some very dodgy types moving closer and closer to me.

I went through my guide book and found a phone box and called a local B&B - a lady answered and said 'I shall send my son to collect you'. Minutes later I was standing in her house and she asked if I wanted a shower - I jumped at the chance. Whilst I was in the shower my red string fell off. I collected three other 'red strings to keep me safe' thoughout the following months and they stayed on my wrist for over nine months until I got back to the UK.

With the very first shower I took after arrivng back in the UK all three red strings fell off. I have always felt as if they had done their duty as I was kept safe for an entire year

I have had lots of experiences of 'feeling protected' which I can't explain but have never 'seen' anything.

I too am a reiki bud and this has 'opened' up my awareness of many more things/energies. During mostly giving or receiving reiki I see angels in my head, much like having a memory or a dream almost.

Sometimes I see the colours with them and then have to google for more info. Sometimes I hear names in my thoughts and then receive images and I convey the information to the person receiving the reiki. I haven't seen one outside my head if that makes sense.

I often talk to my angels and am constantly astounded by the help I receive, but even though I ask for help for mundane things i.e a perfect parking spot I always say thanks and I really appreciate the help I get.

Another reiki bud here - I am not really 'into' angels, however I believe firmly in spirit guides and spirit protectors.

For me they are often felt rather than seen, but sometimes seen in my minds eye, if that makes sense.

I have recieved information about people while doing reiki on them which has really deepened my empathy for them and helped me see them in a very different light.

I am struggling at the moment and during a card reading tonight I got the card for angelic help and healing - made me cry as I really need that right now!

Years and years ago now, i was being treated very badly by a boyfriend who was very controlling and physically aggressive towards me.
He never beat me up but did all sorts of horrid things like push me over, tie an electric cord around my neck and threaten to strangle me.
He also threated if i didnt shut up he would chuck a pan of hot fat over my face.
He threatened me with a fire poker and in the end i had him 'done' for ABH.
One day he threw all the dirty laundry basket over me and i sat on the end of the bed crying.
I felt someone put their arms all around me as if to comfort me.
I thought it was my deceased Granny but who knows, maybe it was an Angel.
