For two nights now I've dreamt about hundreds of Blue Bottle flies in the house and wonder what it means?

Perhaps it's just an anxiety thing as a few months ago I had the same dream and the next morning I kept seeing random flies in the house. This went on for about 5 days and we think it was down to a dead rat under the floor.

What could it mean? Pestilence, poverty, suffering, death?

As far as I know, flies in dreams symbolise feelings of guilt.

(I am now off to dream of flies, as I should have been in bed hours ago )

I doubt very much that it means that something bad is going to happen. However, dreams that carry an emotional impact on us are generally our subsconscious passing a message to our conscious mind - especially a message that we may be reluctant to hear. It certainly suggests that somewhwere inside you have a degree of anxiety about some aspect of your life. What do you associate with bluebottles? What comes to mind when you think about them? In the dream, were they in any particular areas of the house? The house represents you, so the rooms you recall might indicate which aspects of yourself are anxious.

Of course, it might just be anxiety about real dead rats. The answer is inside you - no-one else can tell you what it truly means.
